It was one of the most exciting fights that year. It was a fight that I thought could’ve been a draw, but was lopsidedly scored for Froch, taking place in Nottingham had a lot to do with that.

Pascal has had quite a few upset wins in his career. Nearly derailed Froch, got Dawson’s 0, upset Jack, upset Browne, got Diaconu’s 0, and i’ll be honest idk enough about Elbiali to mention him.
I was looking through his Boxrec when I posted and saw that Elbiali name but it didn't click with who that was until reading your post. Completely forgot about that guy. But yeah I always respected him but I think it was his personality that rubbed me the wrong way when he was younger. He's definitely had a great career, especially in the second half of it. Can't help but root for him now.

I'm happy for Pascal, I just hope he never "fights" Beterbiev, that would be a total mismatch. Marcus Browne and Badou Jack is one thing, Bivol (as we already saw) and Beterbiev are another. I got Beterbiev by TKO or UD vs Pascal if they "fight," and the "fight" doesn't interest me at all. Even if both are based out of Canada, I can't imagine any Canadians would want to go see a beatdown of one of their hometown favorites. Pascal got stopped twice in a row years ago by a Kovalev who was already drinking, imagine a healthy Beterbiev vs a much more shopworn Pascal. Even if Pascal finds a way to survive all 12, which I could see, it would just be a beatdown.

So that's what's important here, that Beterbiev and Pascal never fight, because it would be such a bad fight to see for the fans, and bad for Pascal's health. But if Pascal can keep getting paydays vs PBC's LHW's, fine.

I'm glad Pascal extended his career with some upsets and nice paydays. He is a true warrior and a likable personality.

Always liked Pascal. But at this stage he needs to choose his fights carefully.

Since Pascal is my favorite hometown fighter, I also would not want to see him get a beatdown from Artur. That being said, if the current version of Pascal was to fight the current version of Artur but 5-8 years ago, best believe that ALOT of people in the province of Quebec (I won't speak for the rest of Canada) would revel in Pascal's beatdown (lots of people did for the fights vs Kovalev).

Don't let this comeback fool you, at the peak of his career, Pascal was hated by most in the province. There was a clash between Pascal's brashness, his "american-style of promoting" a fight and Quebec's tendency to appreciate mild-mannered individuals. That's why Bute was adored and Pascal was hated (and both made good money out of this duality).

Generally, the province has rallied around Pascal in the last 3 years or so. That's when the province gained a real appreciation for his true warrior mentality.

He is one of the most chinny yet durable guys I can remember, massive heart and guts. War Pascal

Chinny is not the word for him
                  It was literally chinaware
If he had no heart or guts he’d never get to where he is

                  This is 100% correct
Hated is to put it mildly
But in all reality he is a fughin douche
Haven’t spoken to him in years so not sure if he’s changed but he was obnoxious and thought his chit don’t stink
Plus the fact he was studying to be a cop , while studying acting like a fughin mall cop , that didn’t fly over well with the characters who are into boxing in MTL
Italian mob , Irish mob and the bikers were all usuals at the fights and let’s just say they don’t like cops especially one who isn’t and is acting as he already is
One night as I recall he came close to not seeing the sunrise , the bikers were going to give it to him

People need to understand, while the skillset and bank accounts are completely different, Pascal was our Floyd: people in the province paid to see him lose.
Circa 2007-2012, Bute received way more props for fighting the likes of Librado Andrade, Joppy and Glen Johnson (old versions) than Pascal for fighting Froch, Diaconu, Hopkins and Dawson.

Yeah, I've heard weird stories about Pascal (like "weird" **** he allegedly into). Let's just say that I'm only a fan of what he does between the four corners.

Didn't he actually complete his cop training but never got to actually practice?

First off , let me say hi brother
I hope you and your loved ones are well
                      Yeah your absolutely right
That’s why they wouldn’t understand that one day , hopefully later than sooner , Beterbiev will fight Pascal
There’s to much money to leave on the table and to much animosity between them
I actually don’t know if he ever did become a cop and honestly don’t give a chit lol
The last time I spoke to him was at the Bradley/Holt fight
I was drunk and spotted him
So I yelled out hey everybody it’s Jean Pascal ( I was with two buddy’s ) as we were walking towards each other , as we got close I just yelled out ahhhh fugh him
That was my last convo with Jean
He wanted to kill me but I didn’t give a Fugh and it was the wrong place to start something so let’s say I got away without getting cracked
Another time , I think it was a Lemieux fight he came close to having some major problems with HA puppet gang the Rockers
Crazy fughin city we live in but I wouldn’t have it any other way
                      Be safe
