Comments Thread For: Promoter: Otto Wallin Can Be Ready in Near Future For Whyte, Joshua

Heavyweight contender Otto Wallin is hoping to get back in the ring by the late summer. Wallin raised his level last September, when he came very close to a stoppage victory over current WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

Otto needs to fight somebody else to prove his worth but I'm thinking maybe Helenius or someone in that nature. Let's be honest he hit the lottery against Fury but that 1 name on his resume considering he lost doesnt make him number 1 contender. He faired well against Fury just needs to prove his worth.

The conclusions I came to after watching that fight wasn't that Wallin is a particlulaly fearsome contender, more that Fury doesn't fight well when cut. And they were bad cuts.

Beat somebody top 30, even better top 20 and prove something. Than we can talk.

He only proved he can lose against Fury.

Also that fury rises to the occasion meaning the quality of his fight is proportional to the quality of his opponent.

Fury still won that fights 10 -2 in rounds.

I agree entirely, think a rematch would be an entirely one-sided affair.

Dinu cut Pulev even worse and had him terribly hurt. But still lost by a stoppage.

Dinu is not the same level with Pulev, and Wallin is not the same level with Fury.

He should fight Ortiz he has the same sort of record just the good loss to Wilder.

Otto looks like a decent fighter to me but like others have said, he needs to prove it.
