What Made Floyd Hard to Knockdown

Floyd fought and beat many good fighters but was only knocked down once in his career by Zab. It was a flash KD that got him due to balance. The man wasn't hurt at all.

Floyd would sometimes strike with his chin in the air. Yet no one ever knocked him down by hurting him.

Shane, Maidana, and Corley came the closest to knocking Floyd down by hurtinghim but no cigar.

Rarely got caught clean with punches he didn’t see, and he had a much sturdier frame and chin than people gave him credit for. Even the Judah thing was only a potential technical knock(referee’s discretion) down because he used his glove to maintain his balance. I think the knee he took against Castillo due to his shoulder was the only official knock down of his career. He was never actually knocked off of his feet.

And the dude has a granite chin. Across 5 weight classes he fought some ****ers and been stunned before but never a KD. Some people point to Judah but that was clearly just an off balance thing.

        Dude was a beast

He never took a knee against Castillo. His official knockdown came against Carlos Hernandez when he broke his hand.

            1. Extremely aware
            2. Extremely unpredictable. Floyd was one of the most unpredictable fighters out there, especially Money May. Because his main goal was simply to take away his opponents tools in the ring he never actually exposed his own offense.
            3. Granite chin.
            4. All around athlete. He was gifted with speed in every way it can be applied in the ring. He simply didn't over rely on it. Instead he used it as a tool for efficiency.
            5. Defensively responsible.
            6. Smartest guy in the ring ever. He'd dip over his waist preemptively just to prevent return fire. He'd also step in and smother the opponents best arm for offense right after. Adjust footwork and tie them up. Get them off balance.

that was against Carlos Hernendez not castillo and it was his hand not his shoulder

                  - -Maidana KDed him in tv opening rd of fight 2.

Not called by Bayliss cause he grabbed Maidana to stay up. Bayliss breaks, Floyd backs straight to the ropes to bounce off and down like he was KOed.

Bayliss flummoxed gives home time to get up. Nary a single feint much less a punch attempted in this sequence.
