I mean lesser fighters have got in and Broner is and was a memorable fighter so yeah he'll probably get inComment

The can man will eventually get in at some point. By way of how lower tier fighters got in.
Watch how gen z will admire Broner for stealing Paulie's belt and his girl.
The young next generation are weak a.ss.Comment

Hall of Shamer maybe, but Hall of Fame?
Hell no.
Broner was entertaining as a clown and jester, but his boxing acheivements were eclpised by his utter ******ity.Comment

No.
But it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets in.
This just got me thinking... will Maidana get in?Comment

If it was the Hall of Infamy rather than the Hall of Fame then he'd get in easily, first ballot.
As for as it stands, I dunno. Being a four division champ is definitely not an achievement to look down on, but it is true that he won those belts against relatively obscure opponents in relatively weak divisions, and once he started to get matched up against guys with real clout when he hit WW everything came to pieces. I guess it really depends on the criteria and how you interpret them, but the way I see it a HOF entryist should have a career defined by great achievement or notability for positive reasons, and Broner's career has been defined more by chronic underachievement and notability for all the wrong reasons, both in and out of the ring, especially in recent years. It's hard to make an argument that he truly deserves to get in regardless of what the letter of the law says.Comment

I think so. He competed at a high level and won belts multiple times against elite opponents, and he was almost always in exciting fights, even the ones he lost. I also think handing Broner the ass beating he gave to go with his first loss gave him a cult hero status that would probably help him over the line if they're having a hard time deciding.Comment

Pushing Mayweather pretty close could help too. He just misses out for me though, he was in exciting fights but his only real standout win is Broner unless you include an old Morales.I think so. He’d be eligible by now, wonder if he’s been added to the ballot.Comment

I'd also add Victor Ortiz to Maidana's scalp collection. Obviously Ortiz is kind of a joke now but in 2009 he was considered a top fighter. Both guys went through it and Maidana showed that he had more will to win. That was Ortiz's first real loss and the beginning of his own downward slide into mediocrity, so Broner isn't the only brash young upstart who had his promising career derailed by Maidana, if you think about it.Comment

Maidana-Ortiz was a great fight! However, Ortiz was never a world class fighter IMO. It was an upset and a solid win but I don’t put too much stock into it.I'd also add Victor Ortiz to Maidana's scalp collection.
