Shakur Stevenson will have to wait out the official commission hearing to determine if his proposed next fight date will be approved. The good news is that he now has an opponent in place for the occasion. The unbeaten featherweight titlist will now apparently face Puerto Rico's Felix Caraballo atop a June 9 card being planned by Top Rank to take place at a Las Vegas venue to be determined. Stevenson's co-manager, former unbeaten two-division champion Andre Ward revealed the news Saturday evening on ESPN, which will carry the event, pending approval from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), whose office is holding a monthly agenda hearing on Wednesday with part of the agenda to include whether to permit combat sports to resume in-state.

Gotta respect the UFC for never matching their name fighters against guys the world has never heard of. I'm a die hard boxing fan, put a gun to my head and ask me who this bum is, I'm losing my life. I like boxing visually more the MMA, but within MMA, UFC is just run so much better than the promotions in boxing, so I just end up acquiring a taste for UFC even if I don't find MMA to be the better sport.

This is a mismatch of the highest order.

To all people who see this, I know Felix Caraballo in person and saw all the majority of his fights and believe me, he very deep unknown in the very deep low ranks, in my opinion I feel this fight is not merit to be sanctioned. Shakur Stevenson 10% capacity is sufficient to finish him or carry him for the purpose of gaining rounds and I am not joking with that.
