If Gatti is in the HOF, Does that Mean Micky Ward should be in it too?

Just stop it. With out micky. Gatti wouldn’t be in the HOF.Gatti weren’t a club fighter. He’s a two division world champion...
Should he be a HOF’er? Looking at it coldly, maybe not, but based on his contribution to the sport combined with his respectable accomplishments, I think you can make a fair case he deserves his place in the HOF.
I’m a huge Micky Ward fan but he just doesn’t have the accomplishments. Like Gatti he has made a significant contribution to the sport but he does not have the same body of work Gatti has.
I think there should be a wing in the HOF for fights, that way you could induct classic fights like Gatti-Ward, Corrales-Castillo etc featuring guys who might not make the cut as fighters.
Nobody cares about Gattis two belts. If they did then Broner is going into the HOF too.
He’s a C list fighterComment

You need to look up what a club fighter is. Gatti was headlining in Vegas against De La Hoya before he even fought Ward.
I’m not saying his two belts make him a HOF’er I’m saying they make him far better than a club fighter.Last edited by RJJ-94-02=GOAT; 05-23-2020, 03:42 PM.Comment

No you need to look into the “joke”. Floyd called Gatti a club fighter the night before he beat him and took his wbc.Comment

Gatti clearly wasn’t a club fighter whichever way you wanna try and spin it...
That was my point. He achieved far more than Ward, and that’s why he is in the HOF and Ward isn’t.Comment

Let’s be far. His brawls with micky is what really got him in the HOF minus the murder. Micky should have a claim to it as well to make it make sense cuz with out the three fights and the murder. Gatti ain’t getting in.Comment

I get your point, but Gatti does have a body of work that can be considered world class whilst Micky doesn’t I think that’s the difference.
The entertaining fights, and the backstory definitely helped but his career is also a very respectable one.Comment
