Canelo didn’t need any fixin’ in this one
    That’s why they picked Kovi
Further proof , Canelo dropping that belt as quickly as he got it
Kovi will just look even worse next time out
    A fighter on decline

I think it's more likely that Canelo and co. got the word that Kov had lost his fastball...and in sparring etc they learned he wasn't the same dominating puncher he was...guys who would get hurt by him previously could hang in there and give him some decent work.

Canelo and co. then knew that they could go 12 rounds with Kov, and at worst get outboxed but would get the nod because there wouldn't be much action and it would be competitive...I don't think they necessarily expected the KO but probably thought it was a possibility based on Kov's stamina issues, diminishing punch resistance, and recent tough fight.

Hard to say it was 'fixed' when a guy gets KOed like that

Kovalev doesn't seem mentally engaged and, as a couple have said, he's "off" right now. If Andre Ward could hurt him and put him down then Canelo certainly can do the same or worse (as is what happened, predictably).

I am not sure if he's shot but something is wrong with him.

          There it is.
He was moving strangely in the ring kinda like a cat burgler sneaking in the room. Hopkins did the same thing. I think they call it WASHED UP! Kovalev got knocked out in his last fight and Hopkins landed on the cement floor in his last fight. We can all agree that it wasn't the same version of Kovalev that beat the tar out of Hopkins when they fought.

Abel Sanchez for years said GGG dropped Kovalev with a body shot...

The best body puncher in the game wouldn’t predict efficiency against Kovalev? Canelo was hitting Kovalev to do the body all night, slowed him down

So general consensus is that Kovalev was shot , he was not even moveing in the same way he did in Yarde fight , i understand that Canelo is not Yarde but he couldnt block Krushers feet , some poster said that he was over trained and thats why he looked like that , maybe its truth, but saying that fighters shouldnt fight back to back while some fighters fought 10 times a year or more is just not right.

Canelo rolls with punches, alleviates damage, and Canelo has a tested chin. Canelo is also viewed by all of industry to STAY composed in serious damage.

1.) Kovalev is a jabber from long range.

2.) Kovalev has never fought someone using a high guard to block his shots while countering and had never fought someone who could counter like Canelo.

3.) Floyd was able to counter Canelo’s counters. That’s what frustrates Canelo. You apply the same level elite level. Was Canelo not bigger than Floyd? Was Kovalev not bigger Canelo?

4.). Yarde simply used the shoulder roll but was getting tagged all night unlike Canelo. Yarde took a lot of damage and because he doesn’t spar... he doesn’t even learn the grit and apply it to the ring.

You still need defense and grit to withstand Kovalev’s punches. I’d pick Kovalev to have stopped other guys below 175... calling him “shot” is just code words to not give Canelo props.

Kovalev was shot. Why do you think Canelo fought him. Yard staggered him, E. Alvarez stopped him and E Alvarez only scored one knockout in his previous 5 or 6 fights. Even a light puncher like Ward knocked him the F-out.

When PAC “moved up” did he defend, unify, with other Champions? It’s boxing!

In 2008 PAC fluctuated 15lbs from Marquez to ODH. Did Pac fight the #1’s from 130-147 in 2008?

How come fans didn’t think like this back then? With Canelo hate and fans it’s always monkey say monkey repeat.
