Tyson made 25 extra large to fight McNeely.
I’m sure the card made money, it was his comeback after all.
The problem with boxing is that every overblown purse sets a precedent.

Canelo only gets paid per fight. The fight has to happen or no pay.

If UFC brags about buys during a crisis then is it hard to believe there will be no $19.99 buys for Canelo in a closed setting?

Don’t worry, Canelo will be good. GGG’s half equity paychecks would be more in trouble than Canelo’s.

The hate theory doesn’t even work. What would ESPN or PBC offer Canelo if their industry is damaged? You think DAZN at worst wouldn’t be able to match any other offer? It benefits them going lower. Lol

Hearn shifting blame for poor matchmaking. Meanwhile he’s been matching “this guy against that guy” way before DAZN. It’s not called “Mis-Matchroom” for nothing.

There will be some subs for Canelo fights but is it enough ? I would keep Canelo on PPV .but revenue is not Canelos problem anymore he gets 35 milions anyway.

The only way to change boxing’s lay-up matchmaking is to change the mindset that it’s not ok for a fighter to lose. If the best fight the best, fighters are going to lose and fans have to accept one or more losses without devaluing a fighter substantially for their future fights.

Those who bought the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight was like buying a $ 200,000 car that breaks down two hundred feet from the dealer lot

He definitely took it to a different level with DAZN’s money, I mean am happy for the boxers and all but to pay Garcia 7m to fight Vargas, offer Charlo 7m to fight Andrade, throw money at Broner, Offer Wilder 12m when he was making 2.1, offer Kownacki and Ortiz 6/7m for a Joshua fight etc

Again it was great for the boxers and am all for them making money, but whilst it raise the boxers profile and what they earn moving forward from that, it also made them become unrealistic, because their market value doesn’t bring in the return of those money paid out or offered to them.

I mean look at showtime having to basically pay Wilder more than he was worth for the Breazeale fight! Then having to sidestep the Ortiz fight because they already burn their budget.

Mikey Garcia, Vargas.... these aren’t GBP’s problems. In fact Hearn is making a fool himself and his deal with DAZN.

GGG, Smith, BJS... these are all Matchroom advised fighters. At the end of the day, Hearn and DAZN bow down to GBP and their retention.
