How successful would Plant and Algieri be in the UFC? Both former kickboxers

Many don’t know but Algieri and Plant have huge kickboxing backgrounds. They were kickboxing before boxing.

So they would only have needed to learn grappling opposed to striking.

Then asked to behave out of the ordinary like McGregor and Rousey since they were once mostly quiet characters..

Would Algieri be known as the Italian Stallion and Plant as the Tennessee Tornado?

Al Haymon has made these guys more money than your no-shine UFC fighters.

Impossible to say. I dont think either of them actually had any real notable career in kickboxing, they werent fighting in major orgs or anything like that. Its not an uncommon sight for actual legitimate high level kickboxers to get caught and KTFO in MMA either - Saki, Cro Cop, Reem etc. Rozenstruik got taken out in 20 seconds like 2 weeks ago.

Plant is many times better than Algieri and he can punch hard. Algieri won the title on a fight he deserved to lose and then lost the title right away and has never even come close to being a champion again. Algieri is a boxing old man and he can't punch hard at all. He will never be a champion again and he is probably rated about number 40 by boxrec and unrated by anyone else. Plant, in contrast is an excellent champion and a young boxer in his prime. So Plant is not the same as algieri at all. Plant might do ok in the ufc but powder puff punching old and not very good Algieri would not do well at all.

They get taken down and subbed straight away.

As we all know wrestling is a mystical martial art that is so incredibly hard to learn and master no one can learn it no matter how much time they dedicate per day, their physical prowess, or their trainers, if they hadn't started in school

Only high school kids can learn to wrestle, you know, part time, after school. Don't be confused though, just because your ass isn't in school and can practice all day doesn't mean you will ever catch up with top wrestlers. No sir, they have four years HS training to mop you with, some even have another 4 in college....those are the real badasses. No JJ though, he dropped out.

Nope, no way, no how, MMA stays for MMA and MMA is best on streets because of the mystical, magical, art that is rasslin.

Sure, you can learn HS maths in a month or two. You could start running today and run a 1/4 mile with no problems in a month or two as well. Yes, you can learn the history they are learning much more quickly than they. Sure, you can become a full mechanic in what a 2-4 week training course while they sit in shop for four years and still need a training course to be a professional. Yes, you can grab a disc and chuck that **** just as far as any child at any age, but, they ain't rasslin.

Rasslin is magic. Only rasslers can rassle and all else fails to rasslin right away. Boxers and kickboxers can't learn to rassle. They didn't do it in HS or college so they're ****ed. Absolutely nothing else known to man is treated this way, but, that MMA and them rasslers doe, dey magic.

All other forms of combat sports are easy. Anyone can learn that at anytime. A rassler can take a boxing training camp and go be a champion afterward, but, boxers can never rassle, rasslin' is magic, they're not allowed.

You're exaggerating what the other side says to make your point lol. Some guys can potentially pick up decent enough takedown defence. Israel Adesanya is a good example and Ngannou is getting away with his lack of wrestling for the most part. But its an uphill struggle. A lot of the elites are former division 1 or in some cases former olympic level wrestlers, usually with years of BJJ experience to compliment it. Its a huge advantage. Conor (who is himself a brown belt in BJJ and has obviously trained his takedown defence for over a decade) getting absolutely ragdolled by Khabib illustrates that.

I have never heard anyone say a wrestler could box at a decent level. The mechanics and muscle memory between striking and grappling is so different that its very hard to be good at both. MMA fans were all mocking the boxing skills of Colby/Usman (two elite wrestlers) just a few months back when they basically threw hands for 5 rounds.
