But I’m going to watch it again on ESPN 2 tonight at 11 pm EST. To be fair, I think Floyd lost that fight. And I think it scared him straight to be extra prepared and extra trained and be in supreme condition for all of his fights moving forward to not come close to losing again or put himself in the best position to win. I think he took Castillo lightly thinking he could beat him with natural boxing ability and training to a lessor degree than the training regimen he became known for over the years. All of his fights were too easy after winning the title from Hernandez heading in the Castillo fight. That fight almost cost him and almost altered his persona, career, and money.

I’ve watched that fight twice and scored it a win for Floyd the first time. After 2nd viewing I gave it a draw. I think Floyd lost the first 6 rounds and won the fight because the last six reds (including the championship rds mattered more).

However, you are the first person that has written something that actually makes sense and I can agree with. That fight altered Floyd’s training. He was supremely conditioned anyway but he just upped the ante.
I’ll watch it again this weekend. I can admit I am probably biased because I am a Floyd fan but more so because so many boxers have gotten gift decisions and you don’t hear it being dragged on for decades.

        Oscar beat Tito
        Oscar lost to Sturm
Roy lost to Tarver the first time
        Lennox best Holyfield both fights
        Hopkins beat Pascal both times

The list is endless. But we only hear of Floyd

They should do Mayweather/McGregor 2 but with some steps towards MMA. e.g. small gloves and kicks. It's only fair because the first fight was full-boxing

McGregor should do WWE. That’s more his speed.

You also heard Senior keep saying after every round, "whenever you're ready", meaning whenever he's ready to stop carrying Conor.

It's sad when you get walked down and stopped by a version of Floyd that clearly didn't even bother training. He treated it like an exhibition, just like Nasukawa who also got some shots in (see avi) before getting walked down.
I believe that Floyd barely trained. McGregor's power was non-existent in 8 oz gloves fighting against a guy who has never even been dropped by a punch in his entire career other than maybe a flash against Zab - that he easily recovered from. Floyd's chin is one of the most underrated in boxing history. He's been stunned but nobody has ever been able to actually drop him clean.

Just do the small gloves. Floyd isn't doing any MMA at all. Boxing rules but do it an Octagon with the 4 oz gloves. But it might turn out worse for Conor because Floyd has the way better chin of the two and is the bigger puncher.

I watched it again and thought it was a draw too. But is there another fight on Floyd’s resume that was that close; I don’t think so. I watched the Oscar fight several times already, no way Oscar won that. Floyd controlled most of the rounds midway until the end and won a few earlier rounds too. I mention that fight because people always say he lost that one too. The other (2) fights were Manny and the 1st Maidana fight. And I think Floyd won both of those too.

I just thought the one that was questionable when you watch it “multiple” times was the 1st Castillo fight. But when you play back Floyd’s fight with Manny, Oscar, & Maidana with no sound, Floyd won those.

Agree 💯 again. I just watched Floyd-Maidana 1 last night.
It wasn’t even close. Maidana had the Broner effect going on for him and sure when he had Floyd on the ropes, he was the aggressor and was throwing bomb after bomb but nothing was landing cleanly.
Floyd was landing clean shots all night, especially the body which Floyd does not typically care for. By the 6th round Maidana was hunched forward because of the effects of those punches.

I also agree on the Oscar fight. The first time I watched it I thought it was close.

I agree - do the gloves. The differnce is though that Conor will have enough power with the small gloves to KO Floyd if he connects. And Conor is fast with those arm punches. It would be a much fairer fight - which is why Floyd won't take it, we all know that already.
