Comments Thread For: Charlo's Trainer: Jermell Will Get Rosario With His Speed, Athleticism

Jeison Rosario impressed Derrick James by beating Julian Williams so thoroughly in their junior middleweight title fight. The Dominican underdog bloodied and battered Williams on his way to producing a huge upset January 18 in Philadelphia, Williams' hometown. According to Rosario's handlers, his career-changing performance was the byproduct of the 25-year-old fighter finally taking training seriously.

    Every good fighter

    Has that "Buster Douglas moment".
Ruiz had it against AJ as well.
    Then reality sets in.
    Rosiaro was stopped before.
Once twin jumps on him, reality will return.
The only way I see this thing really popping off if Samson is looking to cash him out.
Otherwise, for now enjoy your moment in the sun Buster/Ruiz.
    Holyfield/AJ is coming for you!

Seems like the PBC is going straight for the biggest fights now.
There is this, Spence vs Garcia, Manny vs M. Garcia is probably next.

I do wonder about Rosario. His win against J-Rock may have been a confluence of beneficial circumstances: hometown fight letdown and style matchup/size advantage...additionally, the cut he caused on Williams seemed to really affect the course of events.

That's not to say Rosario wouldn't have won or that he isn't good, it's just I'd like to see some more before I take him to beat Charlo. I remember when Munguia blasted out Ali, I was very impressed but he has yet to look that dominant since.

Rosario slipped under my radar, I really don't have a lot of familiarity with his career but he was impressive that night against Williams.

And Williams came into that fight very ****y for a guy who never really felt as durable as his Philly style/persona requires, particularly in his legs...they don't recover well.

So I still would have to see more from Rosario although I really liked what he brought.

I think Jermell is way more durable and sturdy on his legs than Williams, so I don't expect Rosario to have people saying he looks like Tito Trinidad when he fights Charlo. Although that would be somethin
