I mean... it’s called undisputed and yes technically you might have all the belts but their is still a lineal champion out there with a legitimate dispute to challenge you for the belts. In my opinion if there’s a lineal champion in that division you should have to beat him at some point before you can be undisputed. Or else what good is the idea of being lineal champion. It make zero ***ing sense with so many fakeass belts already
Could Joshua had been undisputed without getting the lineal title from Fury???

TheHe could have become undisputed with a win over Wilder. Until Fury beat Wilder he had no title and nobody had to beat him to become lineal. besides he wasn't even lineal anymore. He lost lineal by not fighting at all for almost 3 years. do you think it just lasts for ever if the lineal champ is out of action for years? it doesn't work that way. Rig magazine who is real big on the lineal BS withdrew recognition of fury as lineal champ because of his years of not fighting. Now that Fury is WBC champ he must be defeated before anyone can be undisputed but before that Fury was not in the title picture at all except as a contender. Consider this. Long ago Spinks was the lineal heavyweight champ for beating Holmes but everyone knew Tyson was the real heavyweight champ and recognized him as champ and not Spinks. when Tyson fough spinks he koed him in 60 seconds of the 1st round. so much for lineal. it is not a real title and has n o monitary value at all. A boxer can be the undisputed champ by winning the 4 major title belts, the wb0, wba, ibf and wbc and he does not need to beat any lineal champion.I mean... it’s called undisputed and yes technically you might have all the belts but their is still a lineal champion out there with a legitimate dispute to challenge you for the belts. nope... undisputed is holding all 4 major titles
the lineal thing is not a real title
sometimes it is better, often it is worse... but either way, not a real titleComment

Yeah I know that I was just saying that fury because he actually beat Klitchko for the lineal actually gave him a dispute to being the champ. It wouldn’t make too much sense to call someone undisputed without cleaning out the division. BTW this guy BOLIODOGS thing the ring magazine title and lineal are the same. They’re actually separate or else Canelo would have been lineal @154 as wellComment

Undisputed vs undisputed
Undisputed Champion - a term referring to a champion holding all major sanctioning body titles
undisputed - as in without dispute. Clearly there would be some dispute of who would be the champion out of Joshua or Fury, titles being irrelevantComment

Yes because Fury waved off his Lineal title after retiring in 2015. Joshua vs Wilder would be for the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF, The Ring & Lineal Heavyweight Championship of the World because no.1 and no.2 would be facing off during that time.Comment

yea, a lot of fans say that... 'The Ring' bases their ranking system on lineage... therefore, they are often used as a resource to confirm/deny lineage... but yea, just a magazine
lineage is flawed logic, a triangle theory
holding all 4 of the horribly flawed ABC straps is better
because of lineage, 'The Ring' ranked Canelo the #1 middleweight on the planet... despite the fact that he had never faced a middleweight opponent... despite the fact that he had never weighed more than 155... and despite the fact that most of the ABC organisations, in some way shape or form, insisted that Golovkin was the top guy at 160
at the same time, 'The Ring' ranked Adonis Stevenson the #1 light heavyweight on the planet... despite the fact that Sergei Kovalev was regarded by most observers as the top guy at 175Comment
