Tyson-Holyfield was a bigger fight and everyone thought Holyfield was shot.

There was long overdue hype for Tyson vs Holyfield. It just made for a great sellable fight. Both guys were size relevant and had been at the top of boxing for years and years. I always got the impression after the Holyfield fiasco Tyson was the one chasing Lennox. I'm not positive now but perhaps Lennox was the one chasing him going into the 2000s.

The man was in Solitary for most of his time locked up(well documented btw). Ask yourself this, would you be in physical prime when your in a box for 23 hours of the day?

If you think age is an automatic answer to “peak” performance vs over the hill. Then in the words of the late Roger Mayweather.
You don’t know $hi+ about boxing.

It's not just the age, it's the lifestyle, mileage, style and the fact that he was an undersized heavyeeight taking punches from people way bigger than him. You get washed up fast like this. Not a lot of fighters with that type of style/attributes had long primes.

But after beating Bruce Seldon, Mike Tyson ducked Lennox and dropped the WBC belt to fight Holyfield.

Mike is a myth built off of some of the worst opponents possible.

So many excuses for his ultra brief reign.

Excuses and boxing = G@y shlt
