I guess you're a big Mayweather guy? I can't really tell what your point is tbh...you seem less interested in having a convo compared to trying to prop up Floyd and down Manny.

You can pick apart the resume/fighter list of basically anyone all-time...Ali the only guy for me to immediately come to mind as having faced many top fighters in their primes, in more or less neutral places...and that is why many call him the GOAT...and that is even with a pretty mixed bag in many of his big fights.
Nothing to say about that line up I posted.....

The list I supplied has hints of sarcasm but it's not as if I'm making it up. Pac is getting love for fighting those guys. Pac fans rarely pick apart his resume.

If you feel travelling is risky business, then a sensible debate is moot.

Bro how can you really act like it's not risky to travel lol...crazy man.

And I didn't respond to the Pac breakdown because I don't really care lol...I think his resume and Floyd's both get hyped up a bit but I don't really care to get into the weeds about it all the time.

Edit - btw Idk if you highlighted 'travelling' for a reason...but 1 L is the US version and 2 Ls is the UK version.

Couldn't agree more! This is spot on!

Or was that Canelo's idea now
I mean it was the classic A-side move from Floyd...Something we have seen for years and will continue seeing. The A-sider will try to get advantages when they can....Now, saying that, please tell me how you felt the 152 pound limit affected Canelo in the fight? What did you see that was any different from him? Could he not pull the trigger? Did he lose some of his ability to take a punch because of the weight? Was his stamina worse?

Like there was no difference in the Canelo we saw vs Floyd opposed to the one we saw against Trout or Lara. He just got flat out beat and schooled in spots. And that's okay, his style is tailor made for Floyd. No shame in that.

But it is just lazy to try to down play the win by acting like he was drained. If Canelo won, would anyone bring up the weight? Broner had Porter come down to 144 and hardly anyone talks about it since Porter fought like he always fights and won clearly.

All I can say is I am consistent with my views on that...if anyone did something similar, I would have more or less the same opinion.

It just looks bad when you do it...and when the opponent doesn't perform well, I think you have to question whether, and how much, the weight affected him.

I just honestly can't really say how much credit Floyd deserves for that fight...I do think Canelo was a bit green (as evidenced by his rather foolish gameplan) and I do have to at least question how much the weight affected him.

It is also fair to argue that Canelo isn't a much different fighter now vs then...and if you don't think the weight affected him, then that is a fair opinion.

Again I do think Canelo is a similar fighter now...but stronger, and the weight class increases for him probably have something to do with that...I think the 'greenness' hurt Canelo gameplan wise more than skill wise.

I just don't know how much different of a fighter Canelo was at 152 and 23 years old...vs what he is now...and I think he is definitely stronger and more formidable now at the higher weights...more mature and stronger.

With Pac, he hasn't fought anyone smaller than him ever since he moved up to fight Barrera. It's amazing how he negates the height disadvantages just by bouncing intermittently and in spurts.

I think in terms of p4p all time, you could make an argument for manny since none of the ATGs were as small as manny. None of them was as small as a flyweight.

Most of the ATGs are big and have all the height, reach, length advantages.
Mosley had the height and reach. So did Ndou. Ortiz had the height. His first belt came against a guy with 3 inches in height.

Size isn’t all about height/reach anyway. There’s a reason that there are weight divisions in all combat sports instead of height/reach divisions. Just an all around bullsht post.

I’d say for a best win it would have to be an opponent close to in his prime.

If PAC beat Floyd it would only be big due to the undefeated aspect, but lots of folks would claim that Floyd wasn’t in his prime, because neither were. But especially Manny. Manny changed completely after the Marquez KO. He became...domesticated.

floyd is older than Pac genius and was like 36 when he fought canelo...almost a decade after his own prime
