He said 'willing' he didn't say he'd turn his back on a more lucrative fight to automatically sign any offer he was sent between those weights. At the end of the day any and all fighters are 'willing' to fight guys in adjacent divisions if the deal is right.. but that's the kicker isn't it?

If you had a dude mandated to unify with the winner of Cotto - Canelo you saying you'd advise him to instead go up in weight to fight Ward for less money in the exact same timeframe you were expecting the unification to take place?

IDK man, maybe I got different standards to other folk but I'm never gonna call it a duck when a fighter tries to make the most lucrative fight available to him. Didn't fault Sergio for fighting Cotto, didn't fault Cotto for prefering Canelo over his mandatory Golovkin and I don't fault Golovkin for turning down Ward in the belief that he'd be fighting Canelo or Cotto in 2016 as he'd been promised.

      It's a ridiculous argument.

It's like the people who say that Floyd ducked GGG.

Golovkin stated that he would fight Ward at 168 and Canelo at 154

Golovkin: Would Fight Ward at 168 and Canelo at 154...

1 year later, Golovkin killed both of those fights over weight LMAO

no excuses... because Golovkin said that he was willing to fight Froch, Chavez, Jack, Hopkins, Chudinov, Ramirez, at 168... and he also offered to fight Rosado at 158

the weight was a show-stopper with Ward and Canelo

oh, and Cotto... he totally refused to negotiate on weight with him as well

look, I get your point about divisions... no problem, G can stay at 160... but considering that fact that you choose to see this issue from that standpoint, you do not have the right to criticize people who point out that Golovkin lied to his fans and fell short of expectations

interestingly, of the 12 fighters mentioned in this post... only ONE of those guys did not fight outside his division... oh, unless you count Steve Rolls

you Golovkin fans, are giving fans who keep it more real than you, undeserved criticism... calling them haters and such nonsense... we have a right to feel the way we do, especially how Team Bullshlt threw a lot of PROVEN fighters under a bus simply because Golovkin would not fight them

as usual... you just blurt out silly excuses for ya boy lol

that's fine... that's fine... a boxer has a right to stay in 1 division... despite the fact that he threatened to fight about a dozen opponents at 168, just so long as their name was not Andre Ward...

... I get it, no problem with G suddenly deciding to do his own thing... but, yea...

... NEVER attempt to criticize me for calling him Bullshltkin, will ya

I still don't understand how you can duck fighters in divisions above you. Did he duck Wlad too?

I pose this question in every thread. You don't keep growing your entire life. So how many divisions does a fighter have to move up in their career before you stop calling them a coward? 3? 5? All the way to heavyweight?

There's no getting around 3G's career being a disappointment.

I can't deal with too many people moving the goalposts during arguments, man.

The guy I was responding to said it couldn't be a duck because Ward was in a different weight class. That's the specific argument I was addressing so I'll just leave it at that.

Again, he himself said that he wanted all the smoke from 154 to 168.

What's hilarious is Alvarez fans knocking Golovkin when he's arguably the best win on the diva's resume. lol
