Viruses historically have been named according to (A) the first person who caught it (which we don't know), (B) the first person who detected it (which we don't know) or (C) the precise location of origin (which we do know).

Thus why rubella's unofficial name is German measles, because that's the precise location it was detected. Didn't see any Germans up in arms about that.

FYI. The correct name for the virus is SARS-CoV2 and the name of the disease is COVID-19.

You’ve misunderstood my post. It also wasn’t an analogy, I wasn’t drawing parallels. Also no where have I read that the physicians in Wuhan dubbed SARS CoV 2 the “Wuhan virus”. You’re reaching. Also most viruses are NOT named after a geographic place or a person. Go look at a respiratory panel or any GI viruses, let me know if you see any names or location. Wonder who’s the namesake for aids or hpv....

You must not have anyone in your orbit in either healthcare or science, otherwise you wouldn’t think anybody other than trump supporters call this virus the Wuhan or China virus.
