See that's where you got it twisted. First off look through any thread and you'll find me talking about Plant getting beat by Canelo and Benavidez but yes I am a hometown fan ( just not all over some dudes sack ) and second i dont just hate Canelo or love him or love/hate any fighter for that matter. I'M A TRUE BOXING FAN AND LOVE THE SPORT.Nah. It’s a pleasure to see boxing fans get worked up on the Canelo hate, so its fun to see it in action. It breaks down to these categories:
1.) He’s Mexican
2.) Floyd fans miss Floyd, hate that Mexicans doing their thing
3.) Pac fans dislike Canelo
4.) many Brits hate Canelo
5.) Canelo isn’t EE
6.) Canelo KO’d the Krueger
7.) Canelo is in the way for Loma vs Crawford fans on the P4P
8.) Stole the soul of GGG fans
There are many more categories that I’m sure you fit in.
It’s a Canelo and AJ World! Get Widdit!
You’re from Tennessee. Your fantasy is Plant getting beat by Canelo. It will happen don’t worry.
I give credit where it's due and criticism when needed but by all means not on some other guys sack ever! Get real its definitely not a Canelo and AJ world. Hell right now it seems more like a Mike Tyson world considering his name has been in headlines more than any active fighter.
That alone should tell you something when a 53 year old man that's been out of the sport for 15 years can hit the mitts and raise more eyebrows than active fighters. So how bout getting off my sack and back on Nelos before your taught a lesson in humility that you dont want.Comment

The other Alvarez vs. Biev would he AWESOME I dig that fight. I think Bivol and Canelo to small to keep him honest like we just saw his last fight.I've been a fan of Beterbiev & kinda was getting pissed it took so long for him to get the bigger fights. He's a badass mfer who deserves to be where he's at & I wasn't sure he was gonna get there the way things were going with inactivity.
Thing is he's 35. His time on top will be short it's a solid bet. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets in 4 or less more defenses before someone unsuspecting upsets him.
I'd guess the boxer I'd most likely suspect to beat him would be Canelo. That said I wouldn't think Canelo would be looking for that fight necessarily anytime soon with other more interesting to most, easier to make, better paying & less risky options open to him. It's kinda like the Floyd vs Erislandy Lara fight I always wanted to see that was never going to happen fight of 2020-2021 in that way.
So I guess of the fights most likely to happen I'd put the top 3 guys I'd see having the best chance to beat Beterbiev would be Bivol #1, probably the other Alvarez #2 & shockingly to most I think Gilberto #3 if he can keep his movement smart for 12 rds & he's bold enough to take the fight which maybe an issue if any of the rumors circulating hold any truth. I think I'd even throw Jean Pascal as a dark horse at #4 to upset Beterbiev. Jean has shown himself to be a balls to wall guy in tense crazy ass fights & I could see him having some moments vs Beterbiev that could result in a surprise KO or enough moments to eek out a decision despite him having many more miles on him that Artur gots.Comment

What do you think the reason for a guy like Beterbiev to wait so long before turning pro? Is it simply a matter of getting an American visa? Are athletes in Russia content with just representing their country in amateur games?I've been a fan of Beterbiev & kinda was getting pissed it took so long for him to get the bigger fights. Honestly idk or don't recall his back story with not turning pro sooner with such a crazy amateur record (5 L's with 300ish fights iirc). He mighta been hoping to have a better 2012 Olympics than he did after losing in 2008 idk.
There is more of a culture of amateur boxing & more ability to make a living at it where he's from from my understanding so that could be part of it. Also as a foreign guy it's probably not the easiest to make connections as a non-Olympic medal winner to make a deal that makes sense even with a crazy ass amateur record. Why risk a sustainable career as a paid amateur with a likely career path in your country for the risk with making money & physical risks of pro boxing?Comment
