Head to head who would come out on top on this list

When you make these mythical match ups, there are afew things we need to consider. If Jesse Owens was pitched against Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis, Linford Christie & Maurice Greene 'How is Jesse Owen's living and training?' and 'What actual DECADE is this mythical match up taking place in?' All of this information is relevant, Jesse Owens while living off food-stamps and competing on Cinder/Muddy tracks in heavy leather spikes was able to run 10.3 seconds 'At a time when black people where viewed as secondary citizens within America, which in itself displays supreme psychological strength from Owens'
There is a terminology used in boxing to describe certain fighters 'OldSchool Fighters/Throwbacks' These are fighters who have the ability to step into any decade going back in history, and maintain their performance. Fighters such as Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather possibly even Joe Calzaghe. These fighters are able to potentially transcend time itself, because of how they lived and trained 'The type of training methodologies they employed, where universal throughout history'.
Every single person on this thread choosing Tyson Fury to win is wrong. Tyson Fury is not a old school fighter, as a fighter he heavily relies on 'Fancy Supplements and sports science'. Mike Tyson was for the large majority of his career, a old school fighter 'He did not rely on supplements, and his training methodologies where old school methodologies, method's that have been used throughout history to produce fighters and train men for military war'.
So when we debate these mythical match ups you have to factor in all of these variables. If Tyson Fury was transported back to the 1930s or even 1960's, he is not training like he is training now 'He will not have the access to all of the sports supplements he is taking or his strength and conditioning coaches he is working with etc'.
Do you understand what I am trying to explain here? Very few of the fighters today, are going to maintain their physical & mental frame universally throughout time. Tyson Fury & Anthony Joshua are products of this time, the age of science.
When I personally think about mythical match ups, I always take into consideration all of these variables. You hear it all of the time on here 'Well Marciano would only be cruiser-weight today, Muhammad Ali was only 215-220 pounds. All of these fighters from the past where solid, physically solid 'It was a cardinal sin, YES not a mortal sin a Cardinal sin DEADLY almost unforgivable for heavyweights to be seen out of condition inside of a ring 'That was the culture back then'.
So where is this tournament between all these fighters mentioned in this thread happening? Is it happening on neutral ground within some sort of parallel universe, where fighters are left to their own devices? Their memories of their past have been wiped, all they can remember is that they are fighters. Or is this tournament happening in one of he decades of last century, OR even now? And do all the fighters have access to he same universal knowledge of that time, and training facilities?
When you take all of these vital variables into consideration, the game changes. We have fighters today pumping themselves up, consuming all these fancy supplements, sport scientist dissecting their every routine, and recovery times 'And they are still out of condition, BIGGER in size but? Apart from Anthony Joshua not many super-heavyweights are solid.
Lennox Lewis & Mike Tyson where the last two great heavyweights who could transcend time 'They could pretty much live/train within any era' And maintain their performance levels.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 05-18-2020, 04:09 PM.Comment
