I'd expect it to be tough for that Pacquiao, but he definitely could beat that Alvarez.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Canelo Alvarez at 154 in 2013.

That's the green nelo with cw. Pac always beats common opponents more dominant. But Pac reached his ceiling at 150. No need for pac to take fight
Id say Pac decision.Comment

Why do you stack the deck against Pac in an unfair fight. Pac isn't even a big 140 pounder. he could comfortably fight at 135 if he wanted to and had fought at that weight not long before 2013. Yet you want to put him in with a good fighter who just fought at 175. Even in 2013 Canelo was a big strong 154 pounder. Pac was a small 140 pounder who weighed in for welterweight fights at 145 fully fed and watered.Comment

Regardless if its on a catchweight or not Floyd would do better vs Canelo that Pacquiao would, but Pac would probably do more dmg to Canelo than Floyd. Just like Floyd struggled with Maidana, but we all know that Pacquiao would beat the hell out of Maidana.

Pacquiao all day long. Canelo has improved a LOT since that time period where is I for the longest time figured he was a b level, one dimensional boxer puncher, who could be a good counter puncher against mediocre opposition. Pac would beat him handedly because Canelo didn't have the temperament of a Morales or Maidana. The kind of temperament where you throw the pot shot, tit for tat aside once realizing your only chance of changing the momentum is to go for broke, throw the kitchen sink. In layman's terms Pac was too skilled and adept as an elite level talent who had seen it all and a master at taking control of the fight. Canelo back then was too one dimensional. He was far too flat footed and was too big for 154 to utilize the defensive skills he did have. His best strategy would have been to impose his size and strength which he didn't do against Floyd. It was obvious early on he needed to adjust to beat Floyd but he didn't and thus was okay with staying merely "competitive" in a fight he had no chance of winning. Floyd clowned him and made him look like a one dimensional plodder. Pac would do the same but leave more physical damage.Comment
