People have to realize when an athlete has kids. They are only HALF of you. If the mother is just a trophy wife then well you’re offspring is not going to be better than you.

Its very RARE where a Great father gets surpassed by an even GREATER son. It Happens very few times in history.

There’s only a few cases when the son was better then the father and I think that’s Peyton, Eli, Mayweather ( don’t even have to say junior) , You can make an argument for Corey Spinks and that’s really it on the top of my head.

Kobe was better than his NBA father Jellybean Bryant

Rob Gronkowski surpassed his NFL dad.

Steph Curry is better than father Dell Curry just as his teammate Klay is better than his father Mychal Thompson.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson surpassed his dad Rocky "Soul Man" Johnson if you count the WWE.

But I agree it doesn't happen often.

I don’t think there’s every been a father and son who both were HOFers in any sport. Its always dad is great, son is ok, or dad is ok, and son is great.
