Comments Thread For: Sulaiman: Benavidez-Angulo Still Can Happen Before Making Mandatory Against Yildirim

David Benavidez probably will be allowed by the WBC to reschedule his voluntary title defense against Roamer Alexis Angulo once the COVID-19 pandemic ends. Benavidez's mandatory defense versus Avni Yildirim is due, but Benavidez and Angulo were scheduled to fight April 18 in Phoenix. Benavidez (22-0, 19 KOs) signed a contract for that optional title defense because the number one-rated Yildirim suffered a shoulder injury that rendered him temporarily unavailable to battle Benavidez.

Why? Again why? The pandemic has put everything on hold. And once boxing is back again why are you allowing garbage fights? I know promoters pay off these organisations but the WBC got to be the worse with their PBC connection. They act more like promoters for PBC. The Yildrim fight itself is a disgrace but they still allow it after the man failed a drug test, and the only reason they are allowing it is because the PBC want that fight still, and now they are still going to push ahead a voluntary fight that delays everything even further. Why can’t they go straight to the Plant unification? Jokers

Why would they put Angulo in with a beast like Benavidez. Even beating peter Quillin doesn’t mean anything, Angulo could die in there. Don’t like this from the sport

Looks like were all in agreement for once, but why mandatory's when the World wants unification's? The WBC ordered Benavidez Vs Smith years ago, so in the situation we find our self's in why can't the promoters give us what we want? Taylor/Ramerez is another one that needs to happen as soon as the World get's back to some kind of normality.

This would be a great test for Benavidez. Angulo is strong! Really strong in both hands and once he has his opponent going backwards it's a done deal. There isn't anyone could beat him except Zurdo. So what better way to say you are for real than to beat a real threat!. Unfortunately Benavidez now has an excuse to take an easier fight. Hope not. Gain respect and stay with the Angulo fight then dominate 168. If Benavidez wins nobody else will hit him as hard again not even Canelo. He will gain alot more confidence throughout rest of career. It will be a fun fight to watch. Hope it happens.
