How good was Sven Ottke? One of the best SMW ever?

Sven Ottke is arguably one of the most boring champions ever but he retired undefeated so he always got the job done. 34-0 with 6 KO's. I know some of his wins are a bit controversial but he won them all so we have to respect that.

He was also a good amateur and beat Chris Byrd, Michael Moorer, Zsolt Erdei, Juan Carlos Gomez and Antonio Tarver to name a few.

How do you rate him as a SMW? Is he one of the best 168-pound boxer since the inception of the weight class in 1984? Top 5? Top 10?

He was very good, indeed one of the best super middleweights ever but he will forever be overshadowed by his most notorious peer Calzaghe.
A stellar amateur career and a solid pro career springled with some obvious homecooking takes some steam off though.
His knockout of Mundine was spectacular.

He was a good fighter who never challenged himself and was forgotten because of it.

good enough to fight on the world level...maybe not a hall of famer or atg but even getting to that level is far from easy..there are so many boxers in the world and we only see a hand full

The only time people mention him is when they bring up how bad he was which goes to show you what he is.

Because he beat nobody, that is the difference between ATG and a imitation .

Here you are praising an ordinary guys undefeated record who beat nobody of note, and you then hate on Floyds unbeaten record and he beat everybody of note.,

No consistency in you at all.
