DAZN needs the fight more than Canelo does.
Canelo gets a guaranteed $35M per fight, but he can't fight no-hopers and anonymous second-tier champions for the duration of his contract. There are no stimulus checks in boxing. The money has to come from somewhere.

This dude doesn’t want to fight anybody. He’s been selling dreams for a long time...

Andrade says that Canelo fought Ggg past his prime and did not mean much but yet he would have fought GGG 1-2 years ago but not today? Canelo fought Ggg 1-2 years ago, so why is it different for him?

Andrade is a fool if he thinks he has nothing to learn from Ggg even at this stage of Gennady's career. I guarantee you Canelo learned a lot from fighting Ggg. Ggg may be old but he has more experience than probably the top 5 in the division. I am not saying he is better than all the top 5 but you cannot discount his amateur history and his pro history. Love or hate Gennady, he has experience and is very smart inside the ring.

My initial reaction to anyone calling out anyone. The person calling out another name is the B-side and needs them the most to help their career. The person being called out has all the power and leverage. Andrade needs to learn to become the A-side and have other fighters calling him out. Learn from Marquez, he was overlooked for his more offensive minded compatriots for years because of his defensive/counter fighting style and if not for his fights with Pac who knows if he would be regarded so highly against the other great Mexican fighters during his era.

That is one way to look at it. Andrade calls out Canelo for fighting an old washed up Ggg only 1-2 years ago but yet says he would have fought him 1-2 years ago.

So which is it? Was Gennady washed up then or not? Andrade needs to learn to play the political game of boxing. His style does not promote well, he is not Floyd. He needs to learn to adapt or he will continue to be left behind.

I agree. I was responding to the part that Canelo needs GGG, and not the other way around. $17 million/fight for GGG is nothing to sneeze at either. At some point DAZN will want both these dudes to fight marquee competition to justify those contracts. Especially GGG, who's already 2/6 done, and 38 years old.

You could criticize Andrade a few years back for his career decisions. But since he joined DAZN he was promised big fights with Canelo and Golovkin and neither have shown interest in fighting him. Saunders got busted for nasal spray and Charlo doesn't want to migrate over to DAZN for millions. That sounds like avoided to me.

I believe he more accurately stated that Canelo fought a still dangerous version of ggg but not the prime version. I don't think that's inaccurate in any way. Ggg was waited out. Right now, ggg is even further away from his prime than he was 1-2 yrs ago. His performance vs dervenchenko was pretty clear.

Gimme a break. Saunders is his “big” name he signed to fight. A dude who has been the weakest link of all middleweight champs of the last 5 years. Off of that we should be saying he wants the hardest fights?

Andrade has been a pro since 2008, 12 years, and not one legit top name. But that everyone else’s fault not his.

                    Yea ok.

Canelo chose someone else to fight.

And GGG doesn't want to fight anyone not named Canelo
