Sometimes we woul drop by before heading out to a fight out of town. Fact is I’ve been there more times as a fighter than as a patron. It was an amazing vibe. Come to think of it, the reason why I wouldn’t go there was because there was this unwritten rule in the gym. And that was to stay away from Jimmy’s Corner, you don’t want to go there drink & make a fool out of yourself cause then you would have to face jimmy. All the trainer in the gym knew this rule. Besides fighters shouldn’t be in bars. I’ve seen Roberto Duran, Héctor Camacho, Ray Mancini, Floyd Patterson, Rocky Graziano, Jose Torres, Gus D’Amato, Angelo Dundee, Larry Holmes ... so many fighters. Like I said during those times when a was fighter, I wouldn’t go there to hangout.
If it’s still open & your in town you should drop by.

    Think Boxing!
thats awesome bro yeah I figured fighters should not be in bars for various reasons.

I remember when Kobe was mad young well under 21 everyone would sneak him into the hottest LA clubs and bars and they all pretty much let it slide since they knew he was gonna be the face of LA and the NBA soon.

Lol ! Also remember back on those days smoking was permitted in bars so I wouldn’t want to be their inhaling all that smoke. Come to think of it after every boxing match back in the days I would be gasping for air after each fight & it was mostly due to cigarette smoking which was allowed in every place back then... what a world I came from...

          Times Square Boxing Club t-shirt

Never went there. Never had the opportunity to meet Jimmy Glenn. But we feel honored to be selling the Times Square Boxing Gym t-shirt on our website, XXIV VII.
Keep we keep the memory alive!

          May he RIP. 🙏

It's a nice old school bar, some pretty bartenders. Feels like the 30s or something. Many boxing figures hung out and there and talked biz. Many fans also. Tyson, Barrett, Dibella so many boxing world figures. Hope the joint rolls on in memory of the great Jimmy Glenn, he was the glue.

Are you serious? You’re selling those t-shirts? When I posted yesterday I was gonna mentioned that I was so proud to wear the t-shirts where ever I went. I had both the blue letters on white & red letters on white t-shirts where how can I purchase it?
