"cuz boxing vs mma!" (no such rivalry exists in gyms, most of which train both fighters nowadays. just between fat fans.)

    Very silly
check the pay scale and rights of the fighters in ufc. Dana does great, the fighters not so much. ufc protects the bottom end fighters better than boxing (a bottom pay scale) but very very few ufc guys even make mid level boxing money. but UFC is doing great on money. one day probably soon that will be a problem.

I don’t watch UFC and not I. To MMA but when Arum called them all white racists caught me by surprise? There are a lot of Hispanic and blacks into mma. Arum is just a senile prick and I’m glad White called him out.

A black belt in Bjj was the lead instructor for the team on grappling and he has a pro record in mma. One day at a fight card in Humble, Tx, a shouting match ensued between him and someone who had been on our time who was no more than a white belt in BJJ and never had any fights in boxing, kickboxing, thai boxing, sanshou, savate, KF, TKD, etc etc etc. Out of nowhere while they were in each other’s faces, the novice threw a punch and flatted the “professor”....breaking his jaw, cutting him inside his mouth drawing blood, and knocking him out for several minutes before being arrested by the local police.
The moral of the story is be careful elevating people in mma as some sort of unbeatable superman. They can be knocked out like anyone else, Mercer proved that against Sylvia. You never know what someone’s true experience is, or what they have been trained to do. I can tell you that there is a segment of MAC that concentrated on the use of knives and hand held sticks based on kali-escrima. Many boxers come from backgrounds where they actually have trained in and practised kickboxing, wrestling, TKD, etc, some come from the Army, Marines etc and have training where the object is to kill you rather than make you tap out. boxers are in boxing because of the money, boxing is a poor man’s sport, mma in the USA is a rich suburbanite sport. Rarely do you see an mma gym in 5th Ward, Southpark, Acres Homes, Northshore, Homestead, Denver Harbour, etc. But you will find them in the burbs, where I live, where I paid 8 times more then I did when I was a member of a boxing gym ad an amateur.
i know and agree. i don't get the hate between ufc and boxing fans. it's 2 different sports and it's cool. the wrestlers go into ufc boxing (an older sport) gets lifers and some sport switchers it's okay. the actual fighters often all train together. it' s like baseball players hating and trashing football players and vice versa. as a kid i wrestled and boxed. i ended up playing football and basketball in college. why would i hate any of the 4?

            At this point..........

I hope DAZN buys out Top Rank.

Dana is 100% right on this. There is a reason why all of Arum's cash cows end up leaving him.

I guess employers don't care about their employees safety if they still are having them work through this covid19 BS. I haven't stopped working since the stay at home bs started. Thank God cause I rather be at working making money and continue to live somewhat of a regular life. U would be ****** to think that white and the UFC wouldn't take every precaution to keep everyone safe. They're probably be alot safer than all those associates working at grocery stores or Walmart

A lot of people are young guns that didn't follow or watch all the big events Arum put on throughout his career promoting. The dude is a promoter legend. He's nearly 90 yrs old and still doing it. If he decides to sell, who can blame him? The man has been WORKING through retirement. I'm not sure how many people on this forum actually work, but do you think you'll be working after retirement age even if you are financially set for life? HIGHLY doubtful...

You can learn a thing or two from the Bob father, whether you like him or hate him. He WORKS.
