Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Says He'd Need Only 2 Rounds To Knock Out McGregor In Boxing Match

Oscar De La Hoya's prediction is the same now as it was in 2017, when he first mentioned a boxing match between him and Conor McGregor. "Two rounds," De La Hoya told Brian Campbell for the most recent episode of CBS Sports' "State of Combat" podcast.

I think he can pull it off. McGregor is not a boxer.

I'd take the over. I figure McGregor is self aware enough to avoid getting ktfo that quick vs a old Oscar. Sh^t Oscar might be half dead after making weight these days & end up having to take a wide decision.

That said stay outta the ring Oscar & quit talking about fighting & just hype your guys under contract ffs.

It goes to show how more prominence boxing craft has compared to MMA. In a perfect world where Conor is elite in boxing rather than MMA, it would be sad and pathetic to challenge a guy so far removed from fighting and also undersized. Same thing with this Pacquiao talk. If Conor wants to walk into boxing and pick up a free opportunity to be a world champion then make him fight somebody his own size.

Oscar is a moron, an imbecile and a bonafide hypocrite.
He spent months criticizing Floyd for fighting McGregor then begs for a fight with McGregor and now he thumps his chest about how can beat McGregor in two.

Oscar is a piece of shít

A top boxer his own size would kill Connor, be a bad KO.

Floyd gave him 25lbs and walked him down.

With a REAL 8-10 week training camp, no cut corners, no IVs just straight training with the fight taking place at the right weight. Id back Oscar 100%.

I hate circus fights but I'd love to see someone like Oscar, Mosley, Manny etc. in a boxing match against McGregor just to bring these MMA idiots back to reality. Floyd could've taken him out in a round of he really wanted to but he actually tried to make it entertaining be walking forward with earmuffs the majority of the fight. Seriously, could anyone imagine Floyd fighting a serious opponent like he did McGregor lol

I cringe everytime I hear an MMA guy say how "McGregor went ten rounds with the best boxer of all time in his 1st boxing match" or "Connor landed more punches on Floyd than most boxers" The fact that they actually believe their man was having success just makes me sick lol.

I had a guy literally argue with me and say that McGregor would beat Manny in boxing match. He almost had a heart attack when I told him Floyd purposely carried him in their fight. He called me delusional - oh the irony

Floyd had a wager on the fight
And as soon as he cashed in , that’s when the fight ended
Anyone can see that Conor was being carried
