on about an unimportant non title stay busy fight. what the hell difference does it make what weight that fight was at you damn moron. what about all those non title fights Canelo had at 155???? Why don't you talk about that? You are just a waste of space on here with your endless stream of GGG hating Canelo loving senseless threads. And that's all i wrote.

I think he had 2 fights at 168* after he dropped it...the first was vs Dawson but the other vs Edwin Rodriguez.

Point though was that Curt was saying GGG was more interested in bigger money, 'easier' (and easier to make) fights...just like Ward was...and who isn't? If you fight everyone on their terms and never think of yourself you end up like Darnell Boone

omg its the same thing! wait what was your point again?

pretty sure the point of canelo fighting chavez was to duck ggg even though he had previously said he wasnt big enough yet he goes on to fight someone even bigger than ggg. i dont remember ggg ever saying im not big enough to fight at 164 so you seem confused. are you getting lost in your own lies and contradictions again?

          Canelo wasn't campaigning above 160... that was a one-off fight against a lower-level opponent

          what a weak excuse

G-stans... always trying to catch someone on a technicality

Golovkin got beaten up by a fat little red kid from the division below

he also tried to fight ward, froch, and chavez jr during that period so im not sure what you are even talking about. guess who ward tried to fight? kelly pavlik and dmitri saritson. maybe ggg was bluffing but they didnt call his bluff so oh well. all we know is ward didnt want the fight and tried to fight those guys instead. somehow you insert that into your brain and come out with ggg was scared of ward? im guessing its based on wards 2015 offer so you are doing a little bit of historical conflation and ignorance by pretending ggg would ever accept an offer that made him postpone the canelo fight a year. look a fake offer in 2015 proves he didnt want to fight ward in 2013! see i knew it!

            curt's scorecard:

            straw man [X]
            false equivalency [X]
            historical timeline conflation [X]
            tu quoque [X]

if you had added some ad hominem or motte and bailey you would have gotten an A+
the offer in 2015, when he was available to fight, was the offer numbnuts

so it was ok for him to fight old froch and bum chavez....but when ward called all you gggroupies claimed "oh ward too big..he 175 now(even though he hadnt fought there)....

i didnt do anything to any timelines....i know the timelines very well....but you guys were ok with fighting chavez and froch but when ward was available and trying to make the fight you excused it "oh ward cant even make 168 no more blah blah"

you guys are hilarious...defending your little idol who has done nothing noteworthy

"hey hey i wanna fight ward"...when ward is on the sidelines and you know hes unavailable! lol...story of golovkins career....alot of big talk but not alot of action...unless of course hes fighting the rolls, monroes, rosados and curtis stevens(u know..the guy that lost to marcos primera and jesse brinkley) of the world

GGG didn't 'move down'. Don't you understand that if a title is not on the line, that fighters agree to a contract weight that is usually higher than an official division limit? This way they don't have to kill themselves to make weight? GGG would only weigh in below 160 for an eliminator or a title fight....like everyone else does.
And Ward??? OMG...that timeline/context has been rehashed a million times and idiots still say GGG ducked Ward. Ward, who initially said No because he was coming off an injury and having managerial problems. Then sends GGG a contract after GGG has announced a unification but with Lemieux. When GGG is only a couple of victories away from the MW record for defenses. When GGG is being strung along by Canelo with 1. a ton of money 2. a continuation of MW defenses.
Ward brought no money to the table, idiots (check with Kovalev on how much he made fighting Ward), and he didn't bring MW legacy (if Ward really wanted GGG, why didn't WARD go down to 160???)
So, idiots...how many of you Ward huggers would, in GGG's shoes, fight Ward???? Far less money. No additional MW defense to put in the record books....Plus, Ward had said No earlier. No reason to give him another chance.
Zero. Unless you are truly even more ****** than even I think you are.

Not sure what your point is....but Canelo's natural weight is at least as much if not more than GGG. His fight night weight vs Lara, in 2014, was 171. GGG vs Lemieux, in 2015, was 170. Canelo is a great fighter, built like a tank, and has probably hit his weight ceiling (at age 29). Similar to GGG who has fought at MW, his weight ceiling, since he fought for a belt at the age of 28.

GGG was 173 against Rubio, and in the Canelo fight GGG looked more wide than in all his fights. So I take it GGG was about 176lbs against Canelo. Even in those pressers I was showing pics on the forum how sweat and gaunt GGG looked during fight week and the pressers. Abel and GGG had a severe way to maintain weight and gain it all back on fight night.

I actually admire that tolerance level from athletes, and it only puts a burden on the fighter cause it’s his choosing. if Errol Spence is 190lbs in walk around pics all bloated and swole I can show you an even bigger GGG with that Soviet Turkic frame too, and about 200lbs. It’s not unreal to believe Anel when he said they could even go to 175 and beat Kovalev “when the time is right.” Look at GGG and Canelo here. Gennadiy is also a stocky bull leading into a fight. Look at GGG and then look at his fight week pressers. He looks like a POW... these pics easily prove GGG could’ve AT LEAST campaigned at 168 his whole career. He was able be to be tip top and fit because HBO gave him 3 dates a year. Slow that pace down and you start to be like the rest. Compress GGG here to Canelo’s height and he’ll look even more stockier than Canelo.
