Agreed 100% and they start making threads to attack other fan base, but they are as guilty as the people they are accusingComment

Fair enough, man, I ain't mad, but I maybe did come on a lil strong, I just had a troll following me around all day so maybe you caught me feeling a lil tetchy. I don't know you TBH so maybe I was being a little unfair, though either way dudes calling accomplished professional fighters 'hypejobs' never gonna sit well with me whether it's Golovkin or anyone else. As to the easy way out - well looks to me like you just fell for the standard script there. That gets thrown around a lot, but you look at it Golovkin's resume hangs up well with any other - ain't in the stratosphere of the real superstars, the Floyds or the Canelos of course, who can afford to get exactly who they want in the ring, but then nobodies does. Which particular fight - or absence thereof - makes you think GGG took an easy way out? That kinda statement requires a little justification, surely. Do you believe he's so good that the slew of top 10 Middleweights he fought were too 'easy' and it was incumbent upon him to take stiffer challenges? Would you apply the same standard to fighters in every other division? You made valid points. As we can dissect anyone’s resume and we can criticize it, but you lost me at the bold. And this is one the reason GGG gets criticized, his fans takes it personal and get very emotional when their favorite gets call on for taking the easy way out.
There’s no way you say he’s a top middleweight and that’s the truth, you guys are up everything that HBO fed you. And that makes y’all gullible and don’t get mad when someone has a different opinion
By Cliff Rold - Using the ratings of the published issues of Ring Magazine, and the archived ratings of the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB) since their debut in October 2012, and under the assumption they act as a reasonable gauge of the state of each of boxing’s seventeen weight divisions over the last decade, a select group...
I don't know who 'you guys' are, but as to 'not a top Middleweight' that is amongst the most baffling statements I ever heard. Of course he's a top Middleweight, he was considered the best middleweight in the world for 5 years and remains a world champion at 38 years old. Arguably the most accomplished since Hopkins and certainly in the top 5 for the millenium however critical you might be. In what world is that 'not a top Middleweight'?
Unless you mean he is 'not a top ATG Middleweight' which is something I've never ever claimed... in which case I agree.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 05-05-2020, 07:50 AM.Comment

These are both legitimate criticisms of certain members of all fanbases around here. Far as I'm concerned dudes got a right to like whoever they please, but the rivalries tend to devolve into ridiculous attacks on the characters of the fighters themselves in order to score points over one another. Far as I'm concerned all the fighters are deserving of respect... the dudes I ain't got much time for are the ones who continually disrespect 'em.Comment

I can't be arsed right now but if I had time I could easily make a counter-thread entitled "How to be a Golovkin nut gargler: a guide."These are both legitimate criticisms of certain members of all fanbases around here. That is a fair enough rejoinder, although I believe there's already a coupla dudes make a full time job of that which is in fact what led to this thread being made - so you'll have some competition.
I got no problems with dudes going OTT in their fandom of any fighter, though, so long as they can do it without crapping on the accomplishments of other fighters. Enthusiasms good in my book, it's the idiots that ruin it. I'm more than willing to discuss valid criticism of my favourite fighters too, and there's plenty you could make of Golovkin, but when it devolves into ****** ish like calling top fighters hypejobs and cowards I ain't got much patience with it.
Gold standard I use when either praising a fighter I like or criticising one who ain't amongst my favourites (and there honestly ain't any fighters I genuinely dislike as boxers) is whether I would be willing to apply the same praise to a guy I ain't a fan of or the same criticism to a guy I am a fan of. Best I can tell I keep to that standard which is all I think you can ask of anyone - consistency. If you're gonna **** on a fighter you don't like you can't cry when someone gives it back to a fighter you do. Least ways that's how I see it.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 05-05-2020, 08:03 AM.Comment
