Jiro watanabe HA dont make me laugh guy. Dude fought nobodies and ducked galaxy. Same with gushiken fought a load of avg midgets and ended up getting knocked out by one in the end. What happened to harada when he FINALLY moved up? Couldnt do ****. Inoue already 3 weight world champ has a better resume and has achieved more than all 3 of them and hasnt even approached his prime. I'm a guy that likes rules and systems (sports and games are meaningless without them) and there's a glaringly ****** contradiction here. Acknowledging that the official record is likely to read a particular way does not in any way indicate my agreement with it. Like I say, start a petition to the WBA and the HoF to insist that the WBA World title should be disregarded for record keeping purposes whilst there's an incumbent Super Champion - and that the Super Champion status be phased out altogether at the earliest opportunity - and I'll be the first to sign that shit. Hell I might even draft one myself then maybe you'd like to sign it?

Stuff like that is one of things that's brought the sport to the ****** state of confusion it's in for my money and only helps drive away potential fans.

Personally I say what I've said ever since counting GGGs title defenses became an issue of contention, he should be credited with those defenses made either whilst he was Super champion or when he was the sole WBA Worlds champion and there was no incumbent Super. Makes it 15 by my count. Other people prefer to just count his defenses as Super champion but that creates problems elsewhere cos you then gotta de-recognise a whole load of other regular champs in other divisions effectively stripping guys like Broner and Maidana and Linares if you want to remain consistent.

That's the long and the short of it. You either credit Golovkin with 15 defenses (whilst he was sole or Super champion) 10 (from when he was elevated to 'Super') status or 20 from when he first won the WBA regular. The official record will say 20 but if you acknowledge that you also have to acknowledge Canelo's World title at 168.

As I've said elsewhere I'd argue the case for Golovkin having 15 defenses and Canelo not having the the forth divisional title but it's what you choose TBH.
