I understand and I get all the points made here. But if you want to criticize boxers for saying they risk their lives and hate how they adjust their career to maximize health...then we have to criticize soldiers, police officers, and firefighters. I’d love for anyone to tell those family members when their loved one dies in battle or burns up in a house fire that they should’ve chose another career.

The point is, not everyone is forced at gunpoint into a profession but some people have the balls to and most of us don’t. So I’ll never tell a fighter or any of the professions above how they should carry out their career. As much as I’d like to.

Funny that you even have the nerve to mention those other professions/careers that don't get to make $1 million paycheck in their lifetime. Yet when a effing diva is offered $12 mil for a title fight silly fans start screaming lowball, "he's putting his is life on the line doe!" As if a soldier in the front line of battle don't.

The death rate for truck drivers & fishermen is higher than it is for boxers.

"Putting their life on the line" is just a corny phrase in general.

I'm sure being endlessly concussed causes accumulated brain damage... but the death rate is very low.

Nothing corny about the truth. Jockeys put their lives on the line as do airplane pilots. Just because the risk is slightly more for one job than the other is irrelevant.

The point is none of these activities is the same as sitting your fat ass down and tweeting all day watching Fox News
