Yep you said it correct. I did however pay for both Floyd vs Manny and Floyd vs Connor.

I also used to buy the occasional UFC but now because IPTV is only $15 a month and everything in good quality I see no reason to pay for DAZN/PPV as it has all the events on multiple feeds.

I do support UFC/Bellator when they host events in my area by going to them.

$40 is still steep for many people, but it's a good start for
a different tactic to woo customers.

I agree to an extent, but part of me thinks it’s just the same people that buy the $80 one are the same that will buy the $40 one.

The rest will still stream it rather than pay $40. there might be a slight increase but I don’t think it will be a huge increase in buys.

I'm a streamer. $20-25 is the price point for me where I'll support the sport and the hassle of streaming becomes unnecessary. Anything more and I'll just stream it for free.

So how much are you willing to pay for a PPV fight without feeling any regret later?

I mean they will pick up some more casual purchases but they would make less money off ppv revenue this way selling more unless they more than double what they would normally sell. The price of ppv isn't what's killing the sport , its lack of mainstream exposure. And ppv isn't mainstream exposure in a niche sport . Put ppv cards on normal ESPN Bob and charge nothing extra thats whats gonna help
Well it'd be easier to make other fighters PPV material. Thats the only bonus. It also sounds like a great deal, psychology is a huge part of business.

They need to make pay comparable to their opposition.
While I agree in fighters being overpaid from a business pov...I can't agree with this PBC theory after thought over it. PBC has a drastic difference from there other brands in boxing. It is NOT a promotional company. It is a management organizer company. Fighters in PBC make more money than others because they are not paying that 30% to a promoter the way other fighters have to...they pocket it. Which leaves room for flexibility in negotiations and purses.
                  DAZNMatchroom definitely overpaid fighters.
But they fell victim to what happens when a brand like PBC arrives on the scene. Fighters are happy with NOT paying promoter fee's and pocketing an extra million. So now Promoters who want to secure PBC fighters will HAVE to inflate their deal to do so. Why would anyone go from making $2 million w/no promoter to $1 million w/promoter? They wouldn't. So promoters had to offer PBC fighters $3 million deals. That's solely the promoters fault and no fault to FoxPBC/the fighters. Promoters could just groom unknown fighters within their stable and continuer paying them market value. They want to steal already established talent though- and that comes with a price.

Difference between professional Boxing and say Basketball though, is that the American conscious as a whole has accepted that Basketball is dominated by "Afro Diaspora" athletes. Boxing is a combat sport so it goes even deeper. The American conscious was ALMOST at a point of RELUCTANTLY accepting that people of Afro Diaspora dominate the sport- which would into be understood as "they are superior in combat" (which bleeds into countless other American issues think "guns") but never truly wanted to...It's why the Great White Hype & Black Murderers Row were huge ordeals in this country's Boxing history. Now that MMA has a firm ground in America in the form of the ufc- America will never have to address and accept the aforementioned talk about boxing. White Boys LOVE the ufc, and the insecurity about Afro people's being superior in combat due to Boxing history, led to them arguing that "mma is real fighting and boxing is not." Black Americans watch Boxing and mma. Usually much more boxing than mma but in comparison to the lack of viewership white Americans give boxing it's a drastic amount. Everything else bleeds out from that.
