Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Vows To Continue Fighting Until He's 40-Years-Old

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has no desire to slow down after revealing he plans to continue boxing until the age of 40. Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) was last in action in February, when he knocked out Deontay Wilder in seven rounds at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to win the WBC heavyweight title.

I sure people want to see fury while he's still learning and improving. But abusing himself he might not have a wlad length career. 36 might be more realistic and take it from there

If they keep spreading viruses around to stop the entire world in its tracks, he might very well be fighting until he's 80.

Iam not sure with furys size ( ballooning in weight) and past out of ring lifestyle he will have that type of longevity , but it's nice to think he would have more than 2-3 more fights like he was claiming before .

If he does have it left in his tank to fight on til he's 40 he really has a case to make himself a true top ATG heavy . If he can clean out the current crop and beat the top guys from the next coming era ( Dubois, Joyce, yoka , ajagba , Filip, and the 2 or 3 big Russian machines on their way up etc ....not even gonna try to remember / spell their names lol) then his name will be up there with some of the best heavies ever . But that's a big if and much easier said than done!!! ( also this next generation has to prove they are gonna be top heavies as well but they look to be on their way ).

I'll be rooting for him tho . Tysons story is great and he's a top notch fighter . One of a kind really with his size and skill. But can his body hold up ?? And is he just blowing smoke again with these claims of fighting on for 9 more years ??

Honestly you never know with Fury. I'd say it's equally likely he was 1 more fight or 12 more fights. I think he should stick around until at least 36 though, retire too early and there will always be questions. I hope he stays in the sport as a pundit or trainer afterwards too.

Fury abused himself so much he might have short career like hatton.
But depends on what happens v josh. If he beats josh and pick off some other top ten contenders then he will retired as best of era and claim to be best ever

No. I think he'll retire after his next 2 fights. I'll only believe him when he signs a contract extension.

Agreed . Let's say somewhere in the middle of his recent claims. Say 6 more fights would prolly be realistic but that gives him a chance to Crack the top 10 ATG list which would be a HUGE accomplishment . Especially in this Era with a lack of great opponents
