Y'all don't look at anything correctly at all. Mikey came up a division to fight the guy no one else was standing up to fight. Yes, he failed. But that takes BALLS. And again, a 1 loss fighter is NOT damaged goods. Let the man's career play out. Right now I'd consider Mikey a genius! Y'all talk like he's a club fighter with 10 losses.

I also like the list made earlier in this thread of potential opponents for him. But I honestly like the Danny Garcia matchup best for Mikey. Styles make fights, and that would be a GREAT one!

I like this whole list really all good names and fights for Mikey I would put Thurman at 2 instead of 3 though and honestly think Mikey might win that one.

Mikey is stubborn and it's going to ruin his career. Everyone, including his own family, told him to stay away from spence, but he insisted. Respectful initiative but he put forward a s***ty effort to actually try and win the fight. Now because of the backlash from that weak performance, he's trying to prove himself at 147 but the reality is he probably can't beat any of the top guys in that weight. He should drop to 140 where he has a shot at being a champion.

U nailed. Mikey was my favourite fighter before he stepped away with his contract issues. He has a fan base and he is likeable. He caught fans attention with moving up to fight Spence. In a lot of ways it was cool because u don’t see that type of risk taken. People wanted to support Mikey. If he had a really competitive entertaining fight with Spence but still lost, it would have still done a lot for boxing and his cred. But he was shut out completely. We all felt conned in a way. Mikey was in tough in his last fight. He doesn’t deserve a top fight at 147. My brother thinks his timed right hand ends Manny, but we also pick opposite sides for fun. He’d have to stop manny bad to have retroactively deserved the fight, and it’d need to have made money. Mikey is just too casual in there sometimes. Nothing worse than watching a fighter come on too late and run out of time. If Mikey gets a big fight he will have to win explosively, if he can’t I want him to lose just as bad. Gotta start thinning out the division.
