" I don't know if I would have beaten him but I would have given it a hell of a try. "

Now why couldn't Manny be this realistic leading up to 2015?

Mayweather's boxing IQ would have been too high for Khan.

        Way too high.

Amir wins one round maybe 1.5 rounds, the 1st or 2nd, before Floyd outboxes and picks him apart

This fight be as good as the Canelo performance.

Amir has overrated boxing ability. Garcia was very competitive before he put Khan out

That's when the stinging right hands and lead left hooks would be landing at will from Mayweather who would surely finish the fight a strong as he started it.

Would have been a watchable fight 10 years ago, first few rounds anyway.
Exactly, and there is one sequence in particular that makes me think Mayweather would have beaten him:

Amir Khan was in the midsts of a dominating first round against Devon Alexander. There is an exchange where you see the best and worst of Khan within a few seconds. Amir explodes with a blistering combination that forces Alexander to cover up. Unfortunately, Amir also has a habit of disregarding defense and leaving his chin hanging in the air and Devon rocks him with a southpaw left cross as soon as Khan stops punching.

Now Amir Khan went on to pitch a shutout in a brilliant performance, however he has always been prone to lapses in concentration that cost him in big moments. Even in fights where everything is going his way.

As for the Mayweather-Khan matchup, Khan would have to win by KO because I don't see him holding it together for 12 rounds. I think Amir would look dazzling for about 3-4 rounds, unleashing blinding handspeed and forcing Floyd to cover up, smiling behind his guard as he waits for the opportunity to counter. I see Floyd eventually marching forward behind a high guard and going to the body. Khan probably responds by flurrying even harder while Floyd lies in wait to uncork a pull right hand counter. At some point Mayweather's sharp punches discourage Khan from leaping in and then it's target practice. Floyd by competitive UD, 116-112 or maybe even 115-113.

Yeah Khan was definitely prone to getting 'greedy' in the pocket, which led to his demise against Garcia. I can see how Khan might nick an early round or two as Mayweather settled in and Khan fought 'scared.'
But it wouldn't take long for Mayweather to read and subsequently time Khan, especially as he slowed, down the stretch.

Agreed. Khan had tremendous speed but it was still only one speed. I think he's had a very good career in spite of that but there are levels and I do my best to look at things objectively.

Amir doesn't need help as a lot of people may well suggest .He is just thick, he was just born that way. Amir fails to add up the facts that are clearly there to see for most everyone else. He is sad case.

Mayweather must think us Brits are a bit touched in the head. He has froch telling him about chopping down trees and Amir running around Bolton setting fire to 5G towers

Honestly, I think that's largely what's gotten him as far as he's gotten in sport and life. The guy is an eternal optimist, which is something I imagine a lot of folks would envy if they stopped to think about it. I believe there was a time that Amir Khan could have contended with just about any WW in the world on his best night, so why would Khan have any less belief in himself? Why should he just accept bs 'facts' (actually opinions) spouted by of folks who've not achieved a fraction of what he has? A lot of people call this guy delusional, but I, for one, kind of admire his outlook on life. He takes on big challenges and has anything but a loser mentality.
