Comments Thread For: Chris Eubank Jr. Chases Coronavirus Epiphany, Enlists Roy Jones As Trainer

For the longest time, Chris Eubank Jr. trained by himself, toiling as a solo artist in the gym during his developmental days doing as he pleased. Although he had his father in two-division champion Chris Eubank to offer guidance as needed, he never really enlisted the services of a trainer to show him the necessary scripts of the sweet science.

Every fighter needs to add a little of something new to his fight game. Styles make fights.

Would benefit hugely from a ramrod stiff jab, not sure if previous injuries allow for that though...

Can't wait for him to enter the ring to "yall musta forgot" like pascal did. It's a requirement of all fighters trained by Roy.

“I was just staying fit, hitting the mitts, sparring and fighting. It worked, but at the elite level you need someone who’s with you 24/7. Someone who knows the game,” Eubank Jr. told BoxingScene.com in an interview."

So basically, what Groves told you in the presser that you ignored.

But still, respect to English (Senior). That's a real man right there. He called up the guy he ducked and asked him to train his son how to fight. Instead of Yoel and Angel and all these dads training their son, English wants it done properly. Although it is indeed a few years late.

Could you imagine what a properly trained Young Eubank could have pulled off against Groves?

Jr. needs something otherwise that step up will always be too much .Was a fan , then not mainly due to his arrogance but good luck to him as the sport always needs exciting talent and maybe Roy will move him on.

Echoing what a few others have said it's kinda late a 30 for young Chris to really be getting a full time trainer and probably his deficiencies can never be entirely remedied now, but he's got fairly far on what he's got and anything extra he can add to his game is only a plus.
