I do still raise an eyebrow against Mayweather's competition recently. Yeah, he looked good against Gatti and Judah... but Carlos Baldomir looked good against Gatti and Judah.
except for the knockdown they didn't count. but i agree with you completelyComment

You mean Judah's KD of Floyd? Yeah, you can definitely make a case that Baldomir looked better, though it's all styles I guess.Originally posted by Mike_Rexcept for the knockdown they didn't count. but i agree with you completely

Hatton and his camp were a little sobered up by the Collazo fight. I think they might have realized Ricky is not a welter. His frame is small for 140, even 135 (Castillo and Corrales are both taller, with longer reaches than Hatton). While Hatton is a monster in terms of strength at 140, at 147 he's just above the curve- which is a compliment given his size. But taking on naturally larger men, with the fight style that Ricky has, is going to lead to a loss or shorten his career. I think they want to find a weight class, first, and then settle in and regain some of that negotiation power with Floyd they lost in the Collazo fight. I think a Castillo fight would be a huge fight and a good test to see where Hatton's at (seeing as most people have Floyd and Castillo at 1-1).
Not that Floyd has outdone himself, competition-wise, but he's put on some good performances. One good performance from Ricky and the Hatton-Mayweather talk will heat right back up.Comment
