Lets Get this Hatton-Floyd **** Straight?

Here is a article which quotes Hatton's own father/manager saying that they turned down the fight with Floyd. This was before Floyd's fight with Zab. All of us have also hear in the last couple of weeks that Hatton's promoter admits that he turned down another fight with Floyd recently.

You guys can say what you want about Margarito but you guys know you have to stop bringing this Hatton/Cotto **** up because it is not true. Floyd has wanted to fight both but Hatton keeps saying No and we all know that Arum aint putting Cotto anywhere near Floyd.

Floyd has also been turned down by Hatton, Cotto, Freitas, Lazcano, Oscar, Naz, & Shane but yet we always say that Floyd didnt fight these guys. If this was anyone else then everyone would be saying he is the most feared man in boxing. Sure Margarito wanted to fight him and I think Floyd shouldve fought him but please dont act like Floyd is just scared of Margarito because even the haters no that is simply not true. You know Floyd doesnt even think like that. Does Floyd probally see Margarito as a threat & wouldnt like to fight a guy like him or Winky until after the Oscar fight? Yes but we all know he is not scared of him so dont even try that.

Here's the Hatton article and I can pull up a million of them on different fighters. Ill post in on the next post. Here is also a response from Hatton. Read the 2nd post 1st. http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Chee/Chee0504c06.htm

THE year may be only one week old, but the boxing world is already reeling from its first shock. When Zab Judah lost his undisputed world welterweight title to Carlos Baldomir at Madison Square Garden, New York, it not only wrecked his anticipated mega-match with Floyd Mayweather Jr but could have consequences for Ricky Hatton.
With the Thomas and Mack Centre in Las Vegas booked for an April 8 meeting against Mayweather, Judah’s match in his home city against the Argentinian, who had lost nine times in his career, was expected to be routine. But it proved to be anything but as Judah was hurt in the seventh round and faded late on to lose a unanimous decision.

The result leaves Mayweather, the WBC light-welterweight champion, hunting for an opponent for an April television date. Ray Hatton, the father and business manager of the WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, is expecting a call from Mayweather’s people this week but feels it unlikely to be an option he is interested in at the moment.

“We turned down two offers to face Mayweather last year,” Hatton said. “I think the offers would be more realistic now. But we would like Richard to have two or so fights in America before we look at Mayweather.”

Hatton is next looking at boxing in the United States in either the last week of April or the first two weeks of May. The favourite next match for Hatton remains an offer from Main Events, an East Coast promotional outfit, for a meeting with Arturo Gatti, the popular former WBC champion. However, Gatti must first beat Thomas Damgaard in Atlantic City on January 28.

There are also doubts that Gatti could make the 10st light-welterweight limit and one offer is believed to be for Hatton and Gatti to meet in a non-title catchweight contest at 10st 4lb. Golden Boy, the promotional company of Oscar De La Hoya, has also tabled a huge offer for Hatton to box in Las Vegas or Los Angeles.

“We have had three or four offers,” Ray Hatton said.

“We’ve had offers at light- welterweight, offers to move up to welterweight and an offer at catchweight.

“We are having talks this week and we hope to have something 90 per cent agreed before we go away. Then we can leave it in the hands of our legal team and sign it when we get back.”

Your right, he should be fighting green guys like Cintron, a bunch of no names like Hercules, & losing to C level guys like Santos. That would be much better

You're arguing an imaginary point. Nobody is saying that Margarito has a better resume than Floyd. We are saying that Floyd decided not to take on a dangerous opponent and instead is taking a safe one. Pretty simple.

Wether its true or not, Floyd is on to bigger and better. Hatton seems to be regressing.

and I completely disagree. How can Spinks at 154 be safer then Margarito at 147? Tell Margarito to beat Mayorga, Zab, or Karmazin and I might agree with you

Come on man, everyone knows that Shane didnt start looking good again until these Vargas fights. Its one reason why Im scared for him to go back down to 147 because last time he looked like complete ****. Mabye he just hit his mark again against Vargas and will do better at 147 this time but maybe he will still look like crap again. Thats why if he fights Floyd at 147 then I dont mind Shane getting a tuneup 1st
