Any good boxer should believe they can beat anyone within their weight class.

Ruiz was obesely overweight. Hatton wasn’t. AJ is still a naturally bigger man than Ruiz.
Not in boxing its not it is and always has been about weight.

There are loads of fighters from 130 to 175 that are longer framed than Mike Tyson.

Boxing is weight, if you can make a weight healthy that is your size, you start crying about a tall skinny guy fighting a short solid guy you are not talking about any one on one combat, weight is fair in fighting every other measurement is arbitrary to the weight.

Hatton outweighed Floyd 153 to 151 on fight night, its all explained by Ricky in his book, he talks of being 159 against Collazo and sluggish, talks about how small Floyd is, talks about being at his best fighting weight for Mayweather which was the same weight he was when beating Tszyu and Castillo 153.

“Bigger” in boxing has always meant that a boxer weighs more. You can’t change that.

The bigger man in the ring has always been determined by weight. You can not seriously have, for example, 5’11” Diego Corrales vs 5’11” Roy Jones jr and say that they’re the same “size”. Or you can not have 6’1” Paul Williams vs 5’10” Mike Tyson and say that Paul Williams is bigger “because he’s taller and has longer reach than Tyson”.

Another example is Dwight Muhammad Qwai. He was 5’5” with a 71” reach. Would you say that GGG is “bigger” than him, applying your logic?

                  Good post.

When you start talking about physics and googling literal definitions, you will then come to his conclusion. But in boxing, size has historically meant weight. Height is a different measurement that is not considered size in boxing. Reach is also a separate measurement and is not considered in “size”. This is why there are “weight classes” for the boxers of the same “size” can fight in, as long as they can make the weight, and not height clases, or reach classes.

Now if you are taking a Physics 101 exam, you want to consider size as a measurement of several things. But as a boxing spectator, every fan should know that size means weight in boxing.

Nel o thought h ed beat floyd in a rematch as did pac. Floyd calls shots.
He and he alone decided if a fight will happen
Floyd is 3-4 years retired and Pac is very much active.

                      Why hasn't Pac fought Spence?
