  • Comments Thread For: Spence: A 100% Focused, In My Prime, I Would Beat Mayweather!

Mayweather is 43, seemingly committed to retirement and wouldn't consider the 30-year-old Spence as a potential opponent even if boxing's biggest star did decide to fight again. Hypothetically, however, Spence is confident he would have beaten Mayweather if they could have fought when both boxers were in their physical primes.

        I highly doubt it...

But did Mayweather ever face a great body puncher?

Hatton was a very good body puncher but he didn’t have the size or skill to utilise his body punching effectively against Mayweather. (Joe Cortez didn’t help either)

Would have been interesting to see how Mayweather would have dealt with a bigger and more skilled body puncher like Spence.

Mayweather would likely have adapted and found a way to win but I think Spence gives him some problems.

You have to have this level of confidence to succeed at anything. Never admit defeat especially in a hypothetical situation.

Errol did spar Floyd, even though it was late in Mayweather's career. They said Errol held his own. I understand it was just sparring, but the reason for Errol's thinking is probably based off of that experience.
