Spence can't even beat Canelo. I love Spence, but the fights against Porter, Garcia, and Brook exposed him a little. He a very durable and rugged fighter, but Brook and Porter gave him fits. Garcia exposed his power. If Spence wants to prove how great he is, Go up and fight Canelo.

When you take a closer look at Floyd’s resume, and I will preference by saying I like Floyd a lot, who on his resume even compares to what Spence brings to the table 100% focused, in his “prime.” Oscar was towards the end, ditto Cotto, Mosley, & Manny. I think with Manny, everyone will say look what he did to Thurman, but that wasn’t the same Manny that dominated Cotto, Hatton, Oscar, and Mosley and others earlier in his prime. Floyd didn’t get a “prime” Manny.
The only one on Floyd’s resume that resembles Spence when he fought him is a “young” Canelo. But this Spence is more skilled and experienced at Welterweight than a young Canelo at a catch weight, with respect to cutting off the ring, attacking the body consistently, staying busy, throwing scoring punches each round, and mental toughness and focus. I just don’t think Floyd fought anyone in his prime that was skilled and experienced like Spence is. With that being said, I would give Floyd the slight edge, LOL!!!

Any version of spence we have seen yet would lose to 38 year old Floyd that fought Pac and Berto.
Im sure the rumors of him doing well in sparring for Floyd's guerrero fight were true but that is just sparring.
Floyd in a 12 round fight where he is fighting to win the decision, completely outboxes spence.

A large welterweight with a jab and power, so what. Floyd has fought lots of them. I dont think spence is any better than 154lb cotto that floyd fought.

Am I speaking a foreign language or something.
A lot of those were not body punchers. Maidana was a pure head hunter for example.
Castillo attacked the body more than most fighters and was known for that. Cotto and Canelo both have loads of body punches KOs. Same goes for Gatti although he’s not an elite fighter like those two he was still a legendary fighter (RIP).
Floyd faced every kind of style. Tall fighters, short fighters, pressure fighters, brawlers, jabbers etc. I don’t think there’s any one style to be successful against him. I think it would’ve been a close fight for a few rounds then Floyd would adjust. Kinda like the Judah and Mosley fights. It’s really the mental game that separated him from the rest. He was able to out-think his opponents and adjust to their style, then dominate them. Spence is very good but when I watch him (or any other fighter right now for that matter) I don’t see that.Last edited by JK1700; 04-28-2020, 06:34 PM.

Hatton is garbage. That’s my point.
He’s a two weight world champion so your point is wrong...Last edited by RJJ-94-02=GOAT; 04-28-2020, 06:48 PM.
