It was a disagreement Sanchez had with Tony Weeks concerning one of his fighters.
This is a quote from CBS sports.
Golovkin promoter Tom Loeffler and trainer Abel Sanchez argued against the NAC's preference of Tony Weeks, largely because of an issue Sanchez had while training junior lightweight Denis Shafikov against Rene Alvarado last December in Las Vegas when Weeks worked the bout. Oddly enough, Golovkin preferred Hall of Fame referee Robert Byrd despite the fact that he's married to the judge who controversially scored the fight for Alvarez last year.
Who was right? I have no idea except the referee has the last word. All I know is there was some bad blood on Sanchez's part over it.Last edited by TonyGe; 04-29-2020, 09:49 AM.Comment

Here is some more background.
Abel Sanchez would’ve welcomed Kenny Bayless as the referee for the Gennady Golovkin-Canelo Alvarez rematch. Sanchez, Golovkin’s veteran trainer, respects the job Bayless did in their first fight and thought he would’ve been assigned to the rematch. Once Sanchez learned Bayless is unavailable September 15 due to an unspecified personal commitment, Sanchez objected to the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s suggestion to instead assign Tony Weeks as the referee for the rematch.Comment

It really isn't that way. Total robberies by a limited fighter who's been pumped up to no end. Tell him to have a gas tank before claiming to be the best fighter around. Can barely land more than 10 punches a round.Comment
