This is a tough sport. Truth is, under the right circumstances, they'll all quit....
I still cant believe Freitas quit...

Yeah and Corrales was totally unfocused as he had a pending jail sentence hanging over his head after the fight. I still would favor Floyd to win if that stuff wasn't going on but I think it would have been more competitive. And I think Floyd's chin is pretty good...Corley landed a huge uppercut on him but he didn't go down.Originally posted by BonafideI'm not sure what the Vegas odds were at the time but I know that many people heavily favored Corrales to upset FLoyd. I was one of them, when I saw Corrales beat down like that I was like holy ****!
Floyd is that good !
Corrales problem in that fight was that he was just relying on the one big punch.Comment

he was takin big punches and he has a family. sometimes you have to do what you have to do.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoNo, he never planted his feet against Corrales. He knew if he stopped moving, his head was going to get knocked off. Sure enough, he ran out of gas in the 8th and got damn near decapitated. I don't approve of him quitting though. I don't care how hard Corrales hits, just stay down if you want out of the fight, but don't blatantly say no mas to the ref. Quitting is for bitches no matter if it's Vitali Klitschko, Kostya Tszyu, or Acelino Freitas. Quitting is quitting.Comment

I agree with Diego. Stay down but don't quit. Think about it nobody criticizes DLH for staying down against Hopkins(and I am pretty damn positive that he could have got up).Originally posted by SquareCirclehe was takin big punches and he has a family. sometimes you have to do what you have to do.Comment

Vargas never stayed down in his life. He is more of a man than any boxer competing today. I guess Corrales is equal in that he never stayed down either. Two of my all time favorites for heart alone.Originally posted by Bonafideyah too much dancing on his toes and moving but there were times where some exchanges where he was planted and hit Corrales flush but Corrales didnt budge.
After he got up from the 3rd KD he could have just continued and let Corrales hit him and force a referee stoppage by TKO. At least my man Vargas never quit , lol.Comment

Bull****. Vargas got up from 5 knockdowns against Trinidad and two devastating low blows. They don't all quit, and Vargas and Corrales is living proof. The weak ones quit.Originally posted by yrrejThis is a tough sport. Truth is, under the right circumstances, they'll all quit....Comment

Lookk at Vargas now and look at Freitas. Vargas's career went downhill after that beating from Tito. Freitas just beat Raheem and still looks good.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoBull****. Even if I don't like Vargas you have to give him his props. In order to stop him you had to kill him.Comment
