Whyte comes off to me as the one trying to get the fight and Ruiz comes off a little less eager. It makes sense, Whyte is flawed but he seems willing to scrap with anyone. Ruiz needs to figure out who's training him and get himself right. A tune-up fight to get him back into some semblance of fighting shape and in a rhythm with his new trainer would probably be advisable.
Whyte is a tune up fight. But using wilder hater highest argument tactic. Ruiz highest rumored purse was $13M. Why would he fight Whyte for $4M. And let’s not say oh Ruiz got that payday from AJ yadda yadda... Ruiz don’t need Whyte but Whyte needs Ruiz. If Whyte really wants the fight his promoter better come up with $5M. I’m not even arguing what salary Ruiz should get. I’m just saying that highest payday argument is ******. Also the proof of funds and didn’t receive the contract argument that Hearn AJ and his troll fans use is ****** as well because I’m sure Hearn didn’t send Ruiz a contract and proof of funds regarding that $4M

Whyte lied. He said 5 when it seems it was 4. There you go gunny bun. Now let's talk about Ruiz lying when he said he hadn't received an offer at all when he clearly had as confirmed by Whytes promoter and Ruiz manager.

If Whyte is a tune-up fight according to you then $4 million would be a good amount for that.

Circumstances regarding paydays are very much relevant so why discount them? At his high-water mark Ruiz made approximately $13 million but he had belts and was fighting an opponent he beat who generates massive amounts of revenue. In that match, he came in very heavy and looked lethargic and disinterested. He loses by wide decision and fires his trainer. With the current situation he deserves to be paid a similar purse to $13 million? In order for that to happen, Ruiz needs to be relevant again.

For the record, I'm neither an AJ nor Whyte fan. I pulled for Ruiz against AJ and would root for him against Whyte. In fact, I think if Ruiz came in shape and motivated against Whyte, he'd probably win.

Coming off his latest showing $4m is a very good offer. If offers like that don't motivate Ruiz to get in shape then he'll soon be the forgotten man of the division.

Maybe at the time Ruiz said that he really didn’t receive an offer.

Ruiz is more credible than Povetkin at the time.
