Veteran promoter Frank Warren reflected back to June 2005, when Ricky Hatton pulled off a shocker and his career-defining win, in stopping Hall of Famer Kostya Tszyu in Manchester. At the time Tszyu was a pound-of-pound fighter and big favorite to win against Hatton, who was largely untested.

Old fish eyes spent a fortune on the referee's bonus that night.

Tszyu was well past him prime, Tszyu only did it for the 4 million he got, he wasn't getting that cash else where..same when lennox fought Tyson, but its lennoxs claim to fame...

              It was messy.

              Massive win though.

It was the WWE, farce of a fight. Tszyu was a little past his prime, but it was a combination of things they set against him. Hatton was a decent fighter, but not in the same league as elite fighters of that weight at the time. Had it been in Vegas, Hatton would have been knocked out

That was a great night, one of best boxing nights/days I've experienced. I loved Ol' Del Boy. The fight wasn't the best but result was all that mattered and the atmosphere was mental. He wasn't the best of fighters but he gave his all and it turned out very well for him. Prob a fight or two too long but they all tend to do it...

It was a great note for Hatton, and his hooligan fans. Then he met Floyd, followed by Manny, he was getting high on coke after Floyd stopped him or was it after Manny stopped him?

Good win over a faded champ in Tszyu!
