Same delusion as Shawn Porter thinking he schooled Errol Spence.

Nothing wrong with your memory my friend! Although I don't think Dirrell was getting "completely battered", I didn't see him winning either! I do think Benevidez looked very one dimensional although, as other posters observed, maybe he was just walking Dirrell down and didn't need to do anything else? I also don't think that, after getting stopped, Dirrell deserves a rematch without at least a couple of decent wins. Thanks.

That's exactly what it was. He didn't need to do anything else bc Dirrell didn't force him to. & he was still winning most of the rounds. If Dirrell came at Benavidez like he does to lesser guys, he woulda been given the Porky treatment. The cut just hastened what was coming anyway. This young man is far from one-dimensional. He just hasn't had to go further than that. If that fight had gone further than when it was stopped, it was just gonna get even uglier. Don't see a rematch being any different, cut or no cut.

You making a lot of assumptions in this comment. A lot of ifs.

I think Benavidez can be out boxed but I don't think Dirrell is the guy to do it. Wouldn't surprise me if Benavidez did give him a rematch and if he does, he'd beat him again.

Just going by what I've seen up to this point. Dirrell threw the main one out there: IF he didn't get cut. Cut or no cut, I barely saw him winning any of the early rounds before the cut. He was boxing ok on the back foot, but he wasn't really landing much. Benavidez' wasn't landing much early either, but the pressure was getting to Dirrell round by round & Dirrell couldn't do anything about it. Pressure eventually bursts pipes. If you got a counter-argument, feel free to lemme have it. Been bored as hell with no real news to debate nowadays.

I never said I had Dirrell ahead when the fight was stopped to go to the scorecards. Benavidez had won. However, after Benavidez started off strong, I had Dirrell winning a few rounds and taking a brief lead - very brief. It seemed as though, Dirrell was going to find way to beat Benavidez on points, if he didn't get knocked out. But the cut changed the fight. I never really cared for Dirrell, and I thought Benavidez was going to run right through him. I learned something about Benavidez and Dirrell that night. I believe a rematch between the two would be very interesting. I also discovered Benavidez isn't as invincible as I initially thought.

I watched this fight, and he was doing a decent job.
