The worst part of it is there are posters that think Dirrell was coming on. I guess whatever it takes to keep pumpung their own egos...
They make out like Dirrell has style. He is the monster, or he starts stinking. If he can't walk them down, it turns ugly. He just bumped into father time, youth was served.
Benavidez definitely does NOT need no new trainers to help his father along. Benavidez has come from being a little overweight fat kid, to where he is now, with his father as trainer. All he has to do is keep training hard and gettting better. As for Dirrell, i love the Dog. I'm proud of his performance. I just think he got out hustled by a younger, stronger kid. He boxed well, but his output and reactions have slowed down just enough to where he was getting touched more than i would like to see happen. 35 ain't old, but it ain't 26, either. It's different for each fighter
Them being from Michigan fought my dad’s fighters and they both could fight so you had to bring your “A” game or get beat! Andre appeared earlier to be the better fighter due to style and talent but Anthony had the bigger punch and heart; but against Benavidez he was looking to quit and his face showed it! He was also winded and had it went any longer he would have Ben ko’d or took a knee to fight another day, but no way was he going to win that night and at his age he can only get another payday but he dam show can’t win.
Before the cut really started to affect the outcome of the fight, Dirrell was starting to solve Benavidez. In the beginning, Benavidez overwhelmed Dirrell with his reach and power, but then Dirrell started to expose Benavidez for his one-dimensional style - perhaps Benavidez needs to bring in trainers to assist his trainer dad. At one point during the fight, I had Dirrell taking a temporary lead. However, his cut got bad, and Benavidez started to pick apart a desperate Dirrell, that had to change his game plan from cleverly boxing to aggressively going for a knockout. I had Benavidez taking over on points again......and then the fight was stopped. I don't know if Dirrell has anything left, but he exposed Benavidez. If his cut has fully healed and if he's still interested in resuming his boxing career, he should seek a rematch with Benavidez.
I wouldn’t go as far as saying Anthony exposed benavidez but he was certainly making it more competitive. That being said, benavidez did cut his eye by sticking to his game plan and it was a tremendous learning experience for him. Despite what people say of Dirrell, he was a solid champ and still a top contender in the division. Would like to see him get a fight or 2 in and then go after Caleb plant and if he can get that title, a rematch with benavidez would be very very interesting.
😄 dirrell brothers always run their mouth, make excuses and look for the easy way out when against top opposition they cant beat. Never going to be a fan if theirs.
