  • Rewatched Canelo-Lara RBR scoring.

    10-9 Lara
    19-19
    29-28 Lara
    38-38
    48-47 Canelo
    57-57
    67-66 Canelo
    77-75
    87-84
    96-94
    106-103
    116-112 to Canelo.

Verdict: Lara definitely could’ve won this fight had he imposed himself more. He had all the tools to beat Canelo but was far, far too negative. Canelo really struggled to land to the head but his body work was very impressive. Lara landed some very clean headshots but they were too few and far between. There were several close rounds but Canelo definitely deserved the decision IMO.

Please post your own RBR scorecards if possible...

Your summary of the fight is how I recall it. Lara made it difficult to score rounds for him...he just didn’t do enough. Canelo, while looking inept at times, was at least trying to make it a fight.

That’s exactly how I saw it, a lot of the time. Had I been in Lara’s corner I’d have been so frustrated with him.

Yeah that’s pretty fair. I obviously disagree but there’s no point having the same old debate when the fight was so subjective.

It was actually a much better fight than what I remembered.

I thought Lara won 6 or 7 rounds maybe but I didn’t care that he never got the decision or a draw because of the way he fought, even if he may have actually won more rounds.

Kinda similar to Galahad v Warrington. If you add the rounds up, Galahad probably won but he fought in a way where I didn’t really care if he won.

What is your assessment of the Trout fight? I'm curious...

If you did score it of course

I had it pretty close but I did have Canelo wining maybe 114-113 or 115-112. I thought the open scoring was terrible that night. It forced Trout into chasing the fight and trading more.

I don't think I could rewatch it. Would rematch Lara-Hurd though.

                    Also had it very close.

There were rounds were Canelo did almost nothing and Trout chased him while missing 50% of what he threw.

Open scoring shouldn't have happened IMO
