There were rounds were Canelo did almost nothing and Trout chased him while missing 50% of what he threw.

Open scoring shouldn't have happened IMO
Yeah I was never a fan of it. I remember that South African judge (Christodulu or something like that his name is) had it ridiculously wide to Canelo. Think he ended up having it like 10-2 or 11-1. It was a shocking card.

Verdict: Lara definitely could’ve won this fight had he imposed himself more. He had all the tools to beat Canelo but was far, far too negative. Canelo really struggled to land to the head but his body work was very impressive. Lara landed some very clean headshots but they were too few and far between. There were several close rounds but Canelo definitely deserved the decision IMO.

Please post your own RBR scorecards if possible...
I think if he imposed himself more he gets caught more. He was forced to keep up the movement because he wanted zero to do with trading or staying in the danger zone.

Maybe so, but he effectively surrendered his chance to win the fight by not engaging and moving away so much.

I think you’re right in the sense that he almost fought scared in patches. I noticed Canelo lands a good body-shot in round 4 and Lara seems to really amp up the lateral and backward movement in the following rounds.
