Floyd fought de la Hoya at 154 the first time , no catchweight . What u state here suggest he didnt ?Floyd is not better in every department. Cmon now.
There is more than 1 criteria for greatness ie how u react in adversity defeats etc). How has Manny reacted after ko's?? He comes back better. That's greatness right there
You never answered my question.
Are pep Duran and Louis Greater than saddler, Hearns and Marciano????????
Of course losses count but in this ridiculous era, idiots call Floyd TBE because he never lost.
Nobody, not even you think that Floyd is TBE.
You mention he fought fighters at their lowest point.
He jumped up 2 weight classes to fight de lá hoya. Nobody gave him a chance. I doubt u did either.
He fought Hatton who was the lineal 140lb champion at his natural weight. Yes he had lost to flloyd a couple of years earlier but he was back in form after beating Pauline and lazcano.
He fought cotto who wasn't at his absolute apex of his career, fair enough but Manny was the much smaller man and cotto hurt him in the first four rounds and permanently damaged his ear. I thought at the time that cotto would murder pacquiao.
You don't mention barrera morales or marquez in your list. Pacquiao was an ATG before he even got to welterweight.
You mention #3 welters, who are they. I know who they're not. Margarito and Williams. Flloyd conveniently retired after the Hatton fight just when those 2 were at the top of the welterweight division.
Please don't tell me you're talking about guererro and ortiz, for God sake.
I agree with you on rios and algieri but those were showcase fights for arum in Macau. Floyd has had a few of those too. Brusselles, sharmba Mitchell, berto
You mention rematching cotto at 150. I've no doubt pac would have but roach and arum said no.
Why didn't Floyd rematch canelo at 160 or Oscar at 54. There was a rematch clause for Oscar but Floyd retired and waited out the clause.
I agree shane was done, but he wasn't exactly in his prime vs Floyd.
Neither fought a prime mosley.
I'll ask u this question.
Has Floyd ever fought an elite, in their prime fighter, in their natural weight class???????
If u want to go down the su****ious route, there's plenty to go around
Floyd and the IV and the hand injections.
I honestly don't know if Manny was juicing. He could have been.
You talk about Floyd having better high points???
Pacquiao is only the 3rd triple crown champion in the history of boxing after Fitz and Henry Armstrong.
You don't get higher than that!!!
And he did it in non-consecutive weight classes and in three different decades. An absolutely unbelievable achievement.
Floyd could have done it by fighting for the middleweight title (when Sergio Martinez called him out) be he chose not to. He didn't dare to be great. He's slightly more cautious than pacquiao. It's not a criticism. He's beaten the game, retired with his health and hundreds of millions in the bank but when I think of my boxing heroes, I don't want calculation and caution I want balls to the wall and go for it. But that's just me
He's also 24 years as a pro fighting in 4 different decades and just beat a naturally bigger man, 10 years his junior who just happened to be a #3 welter!!!!!!!!!
Is longevity not a sign of greatness??? Particularly in the toughest sport of them all???
And if reports are to be believed there are talks now for pacquiao to fight bud. How about that for daring to be great???? Fearless!!!
Oh you mention "Manny weight".
I couldn't agree more. Catchweights are nonsense.
What about "Floyd weight"??
Canelo at 152 and marquez at 144
And Floyd came in at 146 by the way
Who have u got between Floyd at 15 and pacquiao at 25 in your all time list??
In conclusion they are both all time greats but in my opinion, Manny is slightly greaterComment

Whether I believe it or not doesn't matter. he asked for an injection in his shoulder before the fight.
Surely he wouldn't ask for an injection in a perfectky healthy shoulder!!
You're quiet on the other 2 catchweight winsComment
-
one of those catchweights nearly killed Pacquiao LMAO
stop being ridiculous... Mayweather was the bigger man, the catchweight obviously benefited Marquez... and Canelo weighed 1lb less than in his previous fight... whoop-de-shlt, that made no difference whatsoever
those 3 wins, are ALL better than any 1 win on Pacquiao's record
and Mayweather never took any nasty KO's, let alone losses
Toradol is used for all sorts of things, not just for fake injuries

Do your homework on Toradol and then re-think your question again.
There was nothing wrong with the shoulder anymore than any fight in his previous 7 years, they all carry nagging injuries at that level its a part of boxing, they used it after the fact to trying to save face. Look at the ring walk he looks really worried about a shoulder he needed injections for lol.
Got to be so fkn gullible to swallow the shoulder BS, there is no evidence during the fight to support it, none zilch. It was all an after thought saved for the Post fight lets spin a story, bow my head in shame is what Manny did.Comment

OK, here's another long one. I'll try and address all your points. You haven't addressed all of minedid you just criticize the Canelo win for Mayweather, because of the catchweight... but then attempt to blow smoke up Pac's ass for beating 145lb Hoya?

you pacfans had YEARS to smarten up dude... just saying
no historians will rate Pacquiao over Mayweather
even raving pac-tards Dan Rafael and Kevin Iole both recently admitted that Mayweather is greater than Pacquiao
in sparring, Guerrero and Ortiz both laid serious hands on Pac... Roach described the Ortiz session as... "the best sparring ever"... there is a reason why Pac never fought that run of red-hot #3's...
you criticize fighters, like a typical pacfan lol... despite the fact that Pac would not fight those guys, and despite the fact he was fighting opponents who were worse... and you missed the point... I was not pointing out that Mayweather fought better versions of their common opponent, even though he did... I was pointing out that Pac refused to fight those guys until it was clearly obvious that they were at the lowest point in their career... Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, etc... had never been in a worse position, before or after
#timing
he also had like 8/9 CONSECUTIVE weight-affected fights... hence the new boxing terms "catch-weight king" and "manny-weight"... and yet you try to diminish Mayweathers win over Canelo... despite the fact that the catchweight made no difference, and despite the fact that Canelo weighed 153 in his previous fight
#manny-weight
Pac could not separate himself from Marquez
Mayweather SCHOOLED Marquez... not even close
Pac would never have fought Canelo at 152, we know that by how Pac refused to rematch Cotto (a fighter he had already beaten) at 150... nobody would give him much of a chance to beat Canelo... ... but Mayweather SCHOOLED Canelo... not even close... just like Mayweather schooled other guys that Pac would not fight like Ortiz
you mentioned Martinez... Pac said "I will fight anyone at 150"... Martinez IMMEDIATELY replied within 1-2 days... "no problem, let's go"... Pac NEVER mentioned 150 again lol
and barrera morales or marquez are not better than Pacquiao, Canelo, Marquez
btw, Morales beat Pacquiao, and Marquez nearly killed him
Mayweather is simply better than Pacquiao in every department, which is why he operated on a higher level
1. I didn't criticise the canelo win. I merely pointed out the fact that floyd is not above catchweight criticism. It was a good win over a green canelo.
Oscar vs pac wasn't a catchweight Oscar called pacquiao out while he was a lightweight. Oscar offered to come to 47. Manny had to move up 2 divisions. If u thought manny wud whip him, you must have made a killing at the bookies. No? (didn't think so!!)
3. Plenty of historians (max kellerman for example) rate pac above floyd.
Please don't put the word historian with the words iole and Rafael. I'm laughing here. Those guys are a joke
4. You're not seriously bringing up sparring are you??? Did you ever watch pacquiao sparring?? He's often joking around in there. Amir Khan gave him great sparring!!
You think Khan would beat pacquiao??? Haha
Manny would have flattened ortiz and guerrero with ease.
5. Show me evidence of when he refused to fight Oscar, Hatton, cotto or margarito........
He wasn't in their weight divisions so how could he refuse to fight them.?? Absolute nonsense.
6. Don't talk about #timing. Floyd was the most calculating of them all. #timing king
7. You said manny had 8/9 consecutive weight affected fights
SHOW ME
8. You say canelo weighed 153 for his previous fight before floyd and the weight made no difference.
What did cotto weigh in his fight before manny?????
He weighed 146!!!!!!! So if it made no difference for floyd, it should make no difference for manny. Fair is fair.
9. Yes marquez gave manny serious problems. So what. It's happened throughout history he still had the balls to fight him 4 times even though he was a nightmare to fight.
10. Pacquiao did not refuse cotto at 150. I just read quotes from cotto to Dan Rafael that it was money that was the obstacle. I can link u the article.
Who knows if manny would have beaten canelo. All I know is fighters with awkward style and footspeed caused canelo problems.
Stop with the ortiz thing. Start a thread on here with a poll, pac vs ortiz. Go on. I dare ya!!!
11. I did mention Martinez but u didn't respond. He constantly called out floyd at 54 but all he got was crickets.
You expected little manny to fight Martinez???? Ridiculous
You want to talk about avoiding fighters. How about floyd calling out winky, and winky answered the call, a contract was drawn up. But listen to this Mr mannyweight. Floyd demanded it at 154.the weigh in be on the day of the fight, winky could not put on more than 8 pounds. Winky called his bluff. Gary Shaw was at top rank offices to sign the contract and FLOYD PULLED OUT.
12. And barrera marquez and morales ARE better than a young green catchweight canelo, a small fat catchweight marquez and a 2015 version of a lightweight pacquiao with an injured shoulder
Oh and here's the kicker- Floyd's own father in between rounds was telling him he's fighting scared. Haha hahaha, his own father telling him he's fighting scared against a lightweight pacquiao.Comment

What's your point about toradol??Do your homework on Toradol and then re-think your question again.
There was nothing wrong with the shoulder anymore than any fight in his previous 7 years, they all carry nagging injuries at that level its a part of boxing, they used it after the fact to trying to save face. How do you know there was nothing wrong with his shoulder. Were you in his camp?
If there was nothing wrong with the shoulder, why the fook did they inform usada of a torn rotator and the medication they would be taking. The toradol and lidocaine was cleared by usada too.
You're using his ringwalk as evidence of no injury?? Manny could be going to the gas chamber and he'd be still smiling. Get a grip. Oh and fighters have been known to have poker faces during fights. Ya know, so they don't let their opponent know they hurt. I know right, a crazy concept!! LolComment

Dr. Neal ElAttrache, orthopedic surgeon, Los Angeles performed the 90 minute surgery.
"a significant tear in pacquiao's right shoulder".
But don't worry about it mate, I'm sure he's not a real doctor. He's probably a salt water guru LMAO
Riiiiiighty thenComment
