Comments Thread For: Hearn Regrets Not Signing Tyson Fury When He Had The Chance

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom regrets that he wasn't able to sign Tyson Fury, a few months prior to the start of the boxer's comeback campaign in 2018. In February, Fury elevated his standing to the very top of the heavyweight division when he stopped Deontay Wilder to capture the WBC world title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Fury and his fans have to be delighted you missed out Eddie.

Not because you're a bell end, but because Fury has gone straight to the top and Frank along with Bob have got him the fights to take him up there near on instantly..

As much as you are a big player in the promo game and earn the boxers serious coin, You would have promised him everything and milked him beforehand and then cherry picked the fights till he's dry....

Allow me to educate you, ignoramus.

Hearn offered Fury a 3 fight contract with two tune ups then AJ

Fury declined to fight 2 tune ups, then wilder

If Fury had signed with Hearn he would likely be lineal, ring Magazine, WBA IBF and WBO champion right now

So basically, your post is horse****

LOL serious Hearn hater. We can all say Fury has done fine without any help from Hearn but what's all this milked, cherry picks and fights till he's dry bollocks? That's just hater crap and I'd like to see you back it up.

I think Eddie's brilliant at what he does... Arguably the best at it. I'd go as far as saying the best in world.

Well don't talk nonsense then when Hearn offered Fury a good contract.

Fury obviously saw Wilder as the weaker link to go after first, I think he wanted the AJ fight on 50/50 financial terms which is why he went in that direction.

Some funny posts on here. To be fair to Hearn, Fury has said numerous times that it would be like signing for the 'enemy' due to the Joshua connection. He certainly wouldn't want to play second fiddle to AJ in the Matchroom (or any other) stable.

I remember Hearn talking about potentially signing Fury but it was all about getting him in the ring with AJ quite quickly and on his terms. Bob and Frank had bigger, more longterm plans and were happy to bring Fury back at his own pace and invest in the bigger picture. So it's no surprise really, was never close to happening.

Fury was never going to be Eddie Hearn's #2 HW.

I think the route Hearn had planned for Fury was a bit too hard. That’s the issue with Hearn, he would get you paid but you would have to take harder fights. That’s why his fighters get beat earlier than other promoters fighters. It’s great for fight fans but not some of the boxers themselves, Fury was wise to turn down Hearn, he wanted him to take tougher tune ups than Sefer seferi and Pianeta, and then fight Whyte then Joshua!!!

When Warren threw those easier fights at him. And sees Wilder as a easier fight to navigate, in the end Warren was spot on. Because Fury is on top of the world now.
